Match Preview An underwhelming start to our champions league campaign has left our mere progression to the last 16 hanging in the balance and with a very big game to play, despite what we all though was a (relatively) easy draw. Benfica are sure of a place and will take top spot if they equal the result in this game vs Otel Galati, who have yet to score a point this year. So in all likelihood this is a duel for second place and a very. It would be easy to underestimate our opposition were it not for the embarrassment of our home tie against them. Im sure i dont need to remind you about that one. Regardless in order to be eliminated and condemned to channel 5 we would need to do something that has not happened in europe yet. Lose. Another disappointing draw would be enough. My Prediction Basel 0-1 Utd. Sneaking it 2nd in the group.
I have this horrible "Benfica in 2005" feeling about this match. That said, that probably means we'll hammer them about 6-0 now that it's too late for us to get first in the group...
Basel are a funny one. As I understand it, they're s..t hot one minute and cack the next. It depends how they turn out tonight. They'll obviously be going for a win, so it may be interesting. I don't normally watch you lot, but it'll be on in my local and I've got a lie-in tomorrow, so I'll probably see some of it. I'll be giving the 'Suarez Salute' to some of your compratriots in there, no doubt. I now know the ones where I can get away with it
PS When any of Liverpool, you, citeh or the BBS are playing, Carling is only £1.90 a pint until the first goal. Basle winner in the 98th minute?
I think United will narrowly win, but I think it will be close with United probably wasting a lot of chances before hitting the net.
Aye, there's so much interest you felt the need to make that comment twice... They do have their best player back from suspension now, so if anything they will be better than they were in the first match between us. Gonna be a tight game no matter what...Basle have turned out to be a lot better than most people expected them to be.
It wasn't the same comment, Swarbs. There was a slight, but important difference. He didn't bite though. My head tells me you'll scrape it. I reckon citeh are almost certainly on the way out.
