I'd say because it's the hardest part of the game and because we've never given it time to work. We've had some players with the ability to do something special, individually. Delap, Philogene, Belloumi, Carvalho, Tufan... But for the rest of them they need to be playing like an actual team, a well oiled machine. With the churn we've had they've never been able to get to that level of understanding with each other.

Kamara last night was the perfect example. Some people were on his back, but he was putting good balls in with nobody gambling. Puerta in the first half passed behind Coyle who'd ran through the lines. These instances are constant, in every game... UNLESS we're counter attacking - because they're far easier decisions to make. Just play it into space ahead of the obvious runners.

    Counter view.
Kamara put in a great cross for Jones, which he should have buried. That shows I'm not jumping on him.
However, that other cross that several are saying was great and that our forwards should have been 'gambling' on was to my mind poor play. It was nicely cushioned but a hit and hope cross to nobody. How can it be a great cross if there's nobody there! In another breath, posters are saying we don't have strikers hanging back for a pull back! To me it looked like Kamara didn't have the confidence to take it down, then either take his man on (which a confident attacker would relish doing from that position 1 on 1 in the penalty box) or look up and pick out a man. He did neither, he just cushioned it hopefully into the baby box. Wrong decision.

Settled down a little after last night but I think Ruben needs to get more out of us playing against sides that sit deep. I maintain that we were more dangerous under Tim, but clearly easier to play against too. Last night was pivotal, we don’t have a game on the weekend, and it was a chance to ease the pressure of some of the huge games we have coming at home. The decision to drop Alazate is a real clanger. I feel sorry for slater, but multiple times this year and multiple times last year, he’s consistently shows he’s not good enough in those midfield areas. Legs higher up or alongside someone to get us playing is one thing, but I think last night was a really poor decision that cost us big time.

Plymouth currently 9/2 to win next week & 23/20 to win or draw.
It seems that game will see a moveable object meet a stoppable force!

Interesting analysis. Must have taken you ages :emoticon-0105-wink:
How many games is it based on? Hopefully not just the last 3 :emoticon-0136-giggl
Unless you're work horse like say Honeyman, what is the point of players in that bottom left quadrant .... where Kamara strangely is?!!
Surprised to see Dan James positioned where he is. Would have thought he'd be way to the right.
How come none of our other players feature? Nobody else impactful in terms of those descriptions?

I'd seen the same image on Reddit, seems this version has the top bit chopped off. Its apparently attacking mids/wingers with 10 or more 90mins.

I guess Kamara is the only one that meets the criteria

    Thanks.
And that in itself is alarming! Wow. Backs up the valid earlier posts about churn, lack of cohesion, etc etc.

We're so bad at creating that Mehlem still has the most assists this season <laugh>. Personally I think he should have been given more of a chance.

We need to rely on the kindness of others.

Our last own goal was The Patterson Hilarity last Saturday but when did an opponent last gift us a penalty or give us the curtesy of having a man sent off?

Or a hilarious, playing out from the back, cock up?

We need all the help we can get.

Plymouth's form over the last 6 games is better than ours.

I really don’t understand the negative comments about Kamara from last night.
For me, apart from Puerta, he was the only player who made anything happen in the opposition box (bearing in mind also the short amount of time he was on the pitch). He created at least two good chances, which should have led to goals and was more than anyone else did, even those that were on the whole game.
He clearly isn’t the finished article by any means but if he can create our two best chances in such a short period of time, especially when no one else has, I really don’t understand what people are saying.

The majority don't struggle to the extent that we do. As evidenced by us having one of the lowest scoring records.

Absolutely agree. They were raving about that cross on Sky but there was no chance of anyone reaching that. He had a square pass to two other forwards with a far lower degree of difficulty, and didn't play it. Somehow typical of all our young forward players (I include Gelhardt) not delivering the critical pass well enough.

I think Kamara can reasonably expect that the two attacking players in the penalty box would have attacked a cross, rather than stand around motionless and looking grumpy. I though it was a sumptuous cross that was made to look poor by Kamara’s teammates.

I think we don't put them type of crosses in the box often enough. Too often the player waits or cuts back and then puts an easy to deal with ball in. Quick flashing crosses in good areas can cause chaos, own goals, ricochet's that drop in the right place and if we did it more the attackers would have more confidence to know gambling might pay off.
