I wouldn’t bank on it. They’ve lost their last 5 games and only picked up 3 points since we drew there on Jan 4
Agreed, they have slid badly recently, but Carrick has said he would see it as a personal failure if he failed to take Middlesbrough into a playoff place. Like us they've got their game in hand over those just above them at Stoke tomorrow when we take on Hull. A win would take them back up the table and into contention again. Bad form can be temporary and overall they've looked a better team than Bristol, Watford, Coventry and Blackburn to me. I'll take them to get a result tomorrow, then it's up to us to get one as well against Hull.
This article sums it up quite neatly https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/s...ugh-michael-carrick-stoke-city-oxford-united/ Stoke have injury issues. Burger was stand out against us in the Cup match recently. https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/spo.../stoke-city-middlesbrough-injury-news-9969442
Does this look about right to you? This before tonights 2 games involving us, Hull and Stoke - I'll repost it tomorrow after the results are in. please log in to view this image
Think Portsmouth are putting themselves safe. More so than Hull. Surprised Oxford are back in the mire.
Looking at those odds, I think the jacks are well worth a couple of quid @ 33/1 - that seeems very generous to me compared to the rest.
Mad division. If we played Oxford next and beat them we’d go above them when a month or so ago they were way ahead. But we don’t play them next; we play Burnley then Sunderland
How did Middlesabrough do Nin?............ EDIT.........and thank God Colwill didn't play last night..........
He came on for last 10/15 mins and scored 2 points for a left footed conversion into the Ninian Stand. In fairness it was not an easy shot from outside the penalty area. Also managed to fall over when neither the ball nor an opponent near him. Looks to me like he has over bulked up and not in a muscled way.
You'd have thought he was the natural choice (heir apparent?) at No.10 last night when Ramsey was declared unable to play again after Saturday. Looks like Riza has decided he needs graft rather than guile to get us through this and I'm right behind him on this one. If Colwill gets another shot at the No.10 slot - and let's face it, that's the only position he can play - I doubt Riza will chance it until we're mathematically safe.
Wasn't sure whether to post this here or on the 'run in' thread but just to help with the ongoing chat (was bored of work for a bit so indulging in a bit of procrastination).... The 9 teams around us - next 8 fixtures.... Preston could get dragged right into the mix if they don't get a few results against us 'lowly' clubs... of all the lists below I reckon Stoke probably have the kindest run coming up??
Form guide over the last 10.... we are decidedly mid-table - think we'd all settle for finishing the end of season in that kind of position eh?? Check out the bottom 3, just 1 win in 30 between them!!
