they are worried, some believe they will drop down again., protests are being planned for their final home game
Reminds me of another team that was in the premiership. Shouldn’t have been booed off, should have half bricks hoyed at them instead.
There's something going drastically wrong with football in general. Leicester won the Premier League recently yet their fans now boo them off. The stands at Man City emptied when Liverpool beat them 2-0 and the same is happening all over the country. It seems worse at clubs who've left their old grounds and have greater capacities. Is it because clubs have deliberately increased capacity and attracted the wrong kind of supporters … … when the TV cameras pan down for a throw in the crowds at West Ham, Spurs, etc are a mix of Chinese tourists with brand new scarves, mums with three kids and teenagers holding up 'Give me your shirt' banners for 90 minutes. I was at Watford last season and three Aussie lads, on the train back to London, were changing out of their Watford shirts into Arsenal shirts. We were an early kick off and Arsenal late afternoon ... harmless, I suppose, but it left a nasty taste in my case.
sadly this is how football is going. Money has ruined the game, fans are fickle and glory hunting seems to be a badge of honour. at the L1 PO I had people in front of me that said that was their first game they've been to since being in the PL. and no doubt if we get to PO final how many fans will get tickets that havent been to single a game all season. something needs to be done before the stadiums, as you said will just be tourists
I wish I had the time and money to do every away game, I'd much rather that than a season ticket. Away games are like being in the Fulwell end every week. I remember being at Man City a few years back now, getting beat 3-0 and we never stopped singing. We go 1-0 down at home and the place is silent, like you've said it's down to the supporters in the grounds now a day. So many that it doesn't actually mean that much to
Just looking at the Championship table. Would be delightful if Luton AND Stoke went down this season.
Both in deep trouble. Luton are away to 5 of the bottom 7. Stoke have to play Leeds and Sheff Utd then Derby away on the last day. Best of all Luton are away to Stoke which could be an amusing little bloodbath (That’s from memory but I think it’s all correct.)
or vloggers of others fans get tickets ahead of proper fans, well that all its going to be soon, Vloggers recording them at the games. If I lived up in Durham ( Neville's cross is where me dad is from) then I would do every home game, but sadly cant due to location and funds. Said to friend who couldnt comprehend what I was saying ( he works at bank as private banker ( although a W isnt far off the start of that)) when I say for a game, I would be looking at £200-£300 for game now adays. fans are being priced out,
The tourist fans are why the owners of the big clubs will eventually get their way and create a super league. For every one proper fan of these clubs there are 10 tourists who will spend loads in the club shop, pay over the odds for tickets etc. They will be looking at the far east market and picking their lips at the thought of spurs playing barca in shanghai with a sell out crowd of locals paying £200 a ticket and spending hundreds on merchandise
The sooner the better, then we can have our game back where it belongs. It will never be the same but could be even better than the past. OaU
Tourist supporters are bad enough but what I really can't stand is the ticket tout season ticket holders who make a living selling to these people. Most clubs you can buy tickets on the day easy enough but the bigger ones with more tourist fans where you can't and there are locals with season tickets that they never attend and just sell on each week.
I have a SC holder, at Arsenal, who sorts endless tickets if I need them there … … he only goes for the big games and Wembley appearances. The club don’t care, they get their money which is all they’re interested in. Clubs like them, Spurs, West Ham, etc, aren’t that bothered about spending big, to win things, they can’t sell any more tickets so what's the point.
rumours that Man UTD are going rise the ticket prices again. Most owners dont care, "true"( and I hate that term) will get priced out soon,
Aye I’m all for it now, the top 4 and all the state owned clubs can get to **** and give us our game back
They're stopping benefits for ex-players, making hundreds redundant and ending concessions on tickets … … what’s the point of kids and OAPs when they don’t buy pints and scran at half time
closing the canteen to just current squad hes is looking into disbanding the womans team in a way to save money. think they could be in danger of, and I never thought I would say this, administration. they are pushing for this super league
I know there are people who own several season tickets for Anfield and make a good profit selling them week in week out to tourists who are happy to pay over the odds for a one off match! If the clubs cared they would link facial recognition to season cards and only allow a couple of matches to be given to someone else each season!
