Just checking flights for S'land game 3rd March 3 o'clock Saturday 59e return bargain but I reckon match will change either to 12.45 on Sat or 12.45 on Sunday which doesn't bother me either way but my worse fear would be if match was to be switched to Monday night,is that likely to happen or do the Police dictate this fixture?

Police always have a big say in derby games.

  4. Mick I'd try and get to the toon the night before. It'll be much less of a rush then.

No way will it be moved to a Monday night.

Police don't want everyone to be drinking all day and then go to the game.

    My guess would be :

    Saturday 12.45 or Sunday 1.30.

I would doubt it will be a monday, early ko sunday most probably. Saying that the next old firm is a 8pm ko on wed 28th December so you never know, let the carnage commence.

I am in the same predicament but with trains

No,first league game of the season. The SFA and the police are clueless though. Almost every fan will be off for xmas so will have been pissed for a good 3 days before hand, nevermind just the day of the game. Craxy Crazy decision. My mate asked if I wanted to go, I value my life too much!!!

Not wanting to make a 'lots of Scots are unemployed' joke, but would a weeknight night game really be a boozefest? I hardly ever have a drink before a Weds night game, usually rushing to drive up after work and need to be back for Thursday morning.

    Edit: Oops, Christmas <doh>

I will have you know we are ahead of the uk in recovering from unemployment through the recession. <laugh>

In all seriousness though, sickies would be pulled and holidays taken for an all day sesh before the old firm game!!

I'm bumping this,I'm checking if anyone has heard if any change of ko/day of match. I'm on Ryan air site now and I can get return flights for 43.81e flying out on Friday and returning Sunday morning,a steal even if match is changed.I checked with BBC,Newcastle Utd and sky tv matches and as of today game still going ahead at 3 sat afternoon.Cheers for any help
