Not sure the club wanted to leave everything till deadline day. Pretty sure they would have wanted things to be done long before.....but the nature of the window dictates last minute deals.

“We know club are development over results”
Agreed, it’s some people’s opinions but that doesn’t make it fact. We are guilty of being very presumptuous as fans and then acting like this is fact and taking the club to task because of it
Exactly, get them sitting on the bench, that abdulhani looks a proper unit.

If Danns doesn’t play here then that signing is right up there with Emmanuel Eboue <laugh>

Surely lots of clubs do that ...

... it wouldn't have been a risk if Liverpool hadn't sent an injured player.

But, of course, Sunderland are always in the wrong.

Scenario here as we are all guessing at what exactly went on at the medical and no one truly knows what the hell has gone on.

scan had, asymptomatic back issue seen, Dr looks and said ya know what, the lad doesn’t feel any issues with his back, I’ve seen these being played with before fine but just to be on the safe side we’ll send the lad back to Liverpool for a period of rest and light work focussing on the back, I give this 70 percent chance the lad is back and playing within 3 weeks.

2 weeks in Danns has complained he’s feeling pain in his back again and the rest is history …

We took a punt, for all we knew it was a very educated punt.

Liverpool didn't know he was at risk of a reoccurrence because they aren't carrying out medical level tests constantly, nobody is. He is fit to play, he played in the CL 5 days before joining us, but our medical tests showed he is at risk of a reoccurrence which could see him out for a long time. If we completely ignored the scan and played him and the reoccurrence happened then that scuppers relationships with clubs and players around the world.

I understand why we went through with the deal if we thought he could contribute at some point and it was too late in the window to get another deal done but I'm also bitterly disappointed that this has happened. It's not a good look at all.

They do, in fact speakman has already addressed it, most clubs don’t want to lose their players until they have positions covered themselves which is why you see the better loans towards the end of the period.

I must say I’m not bitterly disappointed as we have Isador, Mayenda and we also have the two younguns to call on should we need. I’d be bitterly disappointed if Isador was our only striker.

For me the issue is now that Roberts will be starting the majority of games and I really don't like him. Mayenda can't really be used on the right now as he's the backup striker.

Not in a gambling world! If you bet on a victory, unless you specify it’s in normal time! Hence the technically!! I’d take it still!! 3 dapraws, 2pemalties wins! If it gets us there

I don’t think he should have been, really. I much prefer him centrally. Ultimately we’re gonna need to find minutes for Mundle and Watson shortly.

disappointed if it turns out that Danns can’t play, but it was never absolutely essential to get an attacking one in imo. Would have been nice but we’ve got plenty of talent already in house. Just need Reggie to use it tbh.

As it's now proved to be all Sunderland's fault can someone answer this.

Would there be any criticism of Sunderland if we loaned Seelt out, after his injury, and it turned out he was still injured?
