They wouldnt know the extent of it until a full medical examination was conducted. That's why the buying club do one. Gives the most informed decision possible. Not their fault we made a stupid one.
Us not signing another striker only really becomes an issue if Isidor is injured for the playoffs. Our season is going to revolve around those 3 games in May.
100% mate, just have to hope we get in with some momentum we saw what happens when you drop off at the end under Jack Ross
On signing Danns - its absolutely our "problem", not Liverpool's, in assessing whether to sign him or not. The club had to make a quick decision after the surprise medical result. And they probably thought it was worth a punt considering lack of an alternative, to sign him and hope he might be fit enough to play. Assuming Liverpool cover his wages until that point of course. My problem is that we allowed ourselves to get to the point where we had to make such a rash decision in the first place. I hate how we, and every club, leave EVERYTHING until deadline day.
TBF, I don't think anyone would consider not signing a player on loan, who would be injured for his entire loan spell, as "dishonorable"... we're effectively just donating his wages to Liverpool for nothing in return. The club have done a lot right recently but this is a really bad look... The one caveat is, if we managed to insert a clause along the lines of Liverpool pay his wages in full until he makes an appearance for us. In which case, fair enough, we've not lost out. The idea we're paying his wages to sit in Liverpool's medical room is the bit that stings.
Did he play in the champions league and the FA cup for them? They thought he had recovered, but you can blame Sunderland for it
Yes. Then we examined him and said hold on, something isn’t right. If he plays more and more football it’ll do him harm, so he’s injured isn’t cit can’t play and we shouldn’t have signed him because of that. It’s absolutely not liverpools fault
Hang on, things are switching back and forth now. It’s just been said that he had the injury, at Liverpool, for months and was known about just before the window opened. Are you saying Liverpool didn’t think it was an issue or just guessed that it was healed enough for him to play?
TBH you are talking ****, Liverpool would not have been playing him if they knew he had that injury. But you carry on blaming Sunderland
He had the injury it kept him out from pre season to November time ish. He’s asymptomatic. So after he returned with no pain yes they thought it was recovered. Only when we scanned it do we then notice it’s still an issue.
