Any person signing that deal off is a mug. We don't get credit for looking at his injury profile and doing a basic medical. Deciding to push ahead because we had no one else is the failure.
Agree again, but it would (IMHO) have been reasonable for all parties to cancel the deal given what the medical showed. Hey ho, nowt we can do about it.
I see exactly the same as you see, we all do ... unless there's a secret part of the forum I'm not privy to There were definitely no pelters directed at you on this forum ... ... perhaps you're getting mixed up with RTG.
He has that injury for months just before the window opened. They are not going to do our medical for us. We carried it out, seen the issue and proceeded anyway. That's the failing.
I think the criticism that could be levelled was the lack of a plan B when this issue arose. Is there any harm in having 3 deals lined up then only selecting 1? Maybe that's not the way to do things, but we've signed 4 players this season who were injured. That's not a great look
The fault lies entirely with Liverpool, I'm sure you'd agree ... ... they shouldn't be offering players for loan if they're not sure he's 100% fit. I've no idea how people can attack Sunderland over it.
There is no other arguement. The buying club takes the risk but does their due diligence with a medical. When am issue comes up, it's the clubs decision to continue or not. We did, once again. Learning nothing from Samed situation.
Part of the issue is Liverpool dragging out his signing until the end of the window. If they would have been open to a player coming back from injury to get loaned out mid-window it would have helped us a lot. It's our fault for painting ourselves into a corner, of course.
It's entirely our fault. We agreed no other deal and had to go for this one. Despite a medical showing a stress fracture we went ahead. It's absolutely rank bad decision making. They have done a lot well but this is just poor. Not even up for debate either. Anyway, let's hope Wilson and Mayenda can continue to get goals when needed.
You’ve just proven my point? Everything I’ve stated there is public accessible information, his injury history, the recovery time for stress fractures. And yet you’re belittling my comments
Has the injury updates on Ballard and le fee came directly from the club or are they unofficial sources ?
Liverpool didn’t know it was still an issue as he was asymptomatic. a stress fracture will not be highlighted without a scan, they will not scan him for no reason we did, noticed it’s still a problem and still continued with the signing.
I am surprised some havnt blamed Liverpool. Honestly, we love the club but when they make poor decisions, they need calling out on it. And that is ok, it's not better to blame everyone else and defend us to the hilt.
Someone said at the time to forget Danns exists and they’ve been proven right, We are still stacked in midfield now we have Browne the Serb and salis to rotate, mundle and Watson strengthens us too, kick in the balls but not earth shattering either, I really rate Seelt so happy to have him back in the fold now, hopefully they can help us kick on
I get your viewpoint but Liverpool don't cover themselves in glory. Agreeing that they will loan out a player who isn't over an injury. Anyway, it gives opportunity for others like Ogunsuyi, etc.
Hi all. Not posted for a week or so and been mostly out of the loop on all things Sunderland. Just seen the Le Fee news which is disappointing but at least keeps him fresh for the playoffs!
Him and abdullahi must secretly be buzzing about it, I’d rather develop our own than liverpools too really not arsed about Danns tbh
