Celtic players do dive and have dived in the past however are we not talking about Aluko here?

Let's deal with each case on it's own merits, Aluko is a cheat and should have no complaints about receiving a ban, neither should any player who is caught cheating in future.

Have you read the SPL/SFA rulebook Nev?

Should I explain what he was banned for? I'll give you a clue, it was not for diving.

I'm in two minds about it.

If the ref caught him during the game, it'd be a yellow - conventional wisdom suggests that the retrospective punishment should also be a yellow.

However, the dive won Rangers two points - the same wisdom would suggest Rangers be docked these points but that's a dangerous road to go down.

I don't get how there's so much focus on Aluko's dive when Goian's win-clinching dive at Inverness was totally overlooked.

I think he might get away with it because there is contact even though it's just an arm across the chest, no reason for his legs to give way

    This is true <laugh>

One can almost overlook a good dive - Aluko's at the weekend looked more like sitting doon than an actual dive <laugh>

I think the ref gave it because aluko was denied what I thought was a blatent penalty at 0-0.

Aluko has been cited for a breach of Rule 202, which states that 'no player shall cause a match official to make an incorrect decision and/or support an error of judgment on the part of a match official by an act of simulation',

Rangers fans are confident that Aluko will get let off because in the same circumstances o'connor got let off . Well if that is case can they explain the East Stirling player and Boughera both touching the referee in the Scottish cup , one goes unpunished the other a 12 game ban

When Gordon Smith was chief Executive for the sfa (with his Rangers background should never had the job ) he was very outspoken on simulation , now he is back as a Rangers director , he has spoken out defending Aluko!!!!
