After next week, apart from our home games against Luton and Stoke, we've already played all the bottom 6 twice. In the normal scheme of things it would appear we have the more difficult run in. In some ways I'd prefer that because the rest of the strugglers around us are bound to drop points to one another. At the moment we've still got the home game against Hull as our game in hand and I think 45 points this season will keep a club off the trap door - 5 wins or a combo of wins and draws to get there.
Boro have now lost 5 on the spin. Ugbo again blanked. ps the 3 who went up to the PL as you look at the table are coming straight back down.
At least he was only stealing a wage for the no goals he got for us. It cost the Wendies a couple of million on top. We've already got a better return on Salech.
Just like last season - Sheff Utd, Burnley and Luton. Looks like two of those could also go straight back up and the other straight down again.
Luton the better side in this second half but still 2-0 down. Luton just brought on Josh Bowler as sub.
We could do with Luton losing. Our lack of wins will hurt us, not the number of defeats. Too many draws and dropped points.
2-0 to Watford it is - another defeat for Luton at the bottom. If they do go down and we manage to stay up , if they offload, our old loanee Alfie Doughty is a very good left back if we're in the market. They've also just signed a young Norwegian lad from Wigan called Aasgaard who looks very accomplished in the No 8 spot. Daland and Mannsverk should have a word.
Looking at the table Luton and Derby have lost 20 and 19 games respectively. No surprise to see them propping up the table. City’s draws here and there admist their lack of wins are keeping them just above the trapdoor so a win on Tuesday (you know what’s coming here) to add to just the 3 in the last 20 games would be invaluable. (It’s a tough ask though with our injuries and ability to freeze in 6 pointers and Hulls confidence after an improbable win at Sunderland)
We could get McGuinnes back - but he didn't play for them today and got subbed in the previous one. (may have been inured though)
A big spend by them, and I'm sure he was expecting to be at the top of the table, certainly above us.
Come on Carrick!.............Middlesbrough could do us a some favours their next few games - Stoke, Derby and the jacks (who are far from safe). Despite Rowett's input, Oxford are getting sucked back in and are not out of it yet. Also Pompey have some critical games also against bottom 6 clubs - they play both Luton and Plymouth next with Leeds in between. Very interesting - in the meantime we need to get some points on the board starting tomorrow.
