People come on claiming the Rigg family monitor and control every aspect of his career ... ... then come on claiming his entire system is in shock and he's being flogged to death while exhausted. As long as there's a means to attack the club, with no actual proof and total guesswork, they'll jump at the chance.
One thing I've noticed is that they never seem to below blow teams away! Even if it's a easy match they sit in first gear and stroll to a 1 or 2 goal win rather than really enjoying it and getting 4 or 5 and a big confidence boost. Not sure if that's the manager of the team not going for it like that! If a team is there to walloped 4 or 5 nowt then they should be going for it imo! They can look really good against teams up the top but really struggled in the last few weeks with the lower teams!
If we could look at the data I’d suggest Rigg will be one of the players who covers most grass in a game. Wins interceptions, tackles, Is a key part of our pressing which most weeks is effective. His attacking play seems to have waned which is not a result of exhaustion. Players with exhaustion can’t compete like he does in this tough division. More confidence I’d say which isn’t automatically improved by being dropped, nor from know it all fans implying he needs to lie down for a month.
How was that not a penalty? So the ref and the linesman are visually impaired?????? Maybe the 4th official should have told them
We can only continue to attract ambitious young players by giving them games ... ... this idea that we can 'temporarily replace them' with players good enough to get us up simply wouldn't work. Last year's promoted teams are proving that perfectly.
It’s already been addressed. Keep them at their optimum by introducing players at certain points in the game when the ones who are ready are back fit from injury. Introduce emerging players game by game. I’m happy to trust the professionals with the data they have to hand than a bunch of weekend piss heads.
It makes you wonder why we bother paying medical staff when some supporters can diagnose the slightest injuries from Row Z of the East Stand.
Yesterday was disappointing. I reckon most players tried hard but showed little quality at key moments ie the team had an off day. I think we need to use the squad and will do when we are closer to full tilt. Year on year we have improved. We have a great model and should stick with it and a coach who deserves our support and respect.
I recall the Derby game where we are hanging on and Rigg simply couldn't keep hold of the ball. He needed resting and that was four weeks ago. We all know his talent and potential but he's been run into the ground. He's contributed very little in the last few games. I find it amazing that the manager sees it differently.
Disappointed after yesterday, we just weren't at the races, it happens especially with such a young team. Really struggling with the comments and vitriol aimed at players both in the ground and online. The ironic jeers aimed at Patto after his mistake where terrible imo, the comments both in the ground and online describing players as ****e, useless, fat etc have continued on today and I'm at a loss how anyone can see it helping. As for the booing at half time and full time, well I'm lost for words
Run into the ground but ran his knackers off yesterday until the hour mark. Not playing him is a total overreaction. Things don’t have to be black and white. There’s also a middle bit. Replacing him when he gets leggy or having a bad day is entirely logical. That also requires a replacement who adds something consistently which we’re close to having again.
Our fanbase (especially online) can be very fickle at times look at the **** RLB has been getting, got us past our points total last season with 15 games to go and is within 7 of Mowbray’s total in 2022/23 with 12 games left Be careful what you wish for
I understand and probably agree with this, however I'd be slightly concerned that while it's still a mathematical possibility that the club take this approach. I honestly think we are looking at the play offs, but just last year both Ipswich and Leicester both went through a rough patch over 4 or 5 games but no one really capitalised on it. All it would take is Burnley and Sheff Utd to lose and draw consecutive games and us to win 2 in a row we are then just 3 points a drift, will it happen probably not. Can you imagine if that happened on a Tuesday and Saturday, yet we decided to make 4 or 5 changes over those 2 games and missed that opportunity. I think RLB needs a couple of changes but I certainly wouldn't want them to throw the towel in and just accept the play offs
It was mate, I’m not denying that at all. RLB has done a very good job with this young team, he has flaws but if he didn’t he wouldn’t be managing us in the championship
Absolutely spot on. It’s the “divine right” they all think we have to be top 2. And it’s all The manager’s fault that we aren’t. Despite all of the points you’ve made.
