I`d love to know why referees refuse to give Spurs penalty kicks, once again today there was a nailed on penalty not given to us. In the last 64 PL games Spurs have been awarded just 3 penalty kicks, contrast that with Pool (16), Chelsea (15), Arsenal (12), City (12), Newcastle (12), United (10) etc, in fact we are slap bang bottom of the pile since the start of last season, even a crap team like West Ham have been given 8 in that time.
I'm still not at all sold on 433 as our best formation. I get that it's become 'vogue' in recent years but as you've said throughout this thread, I don't think we have the players to make it work. Even when everyone is fully fit, I look at the group and it shouts 4231, which Archie and Bentancur at the base, Maddison central as a 10 and Solanke leading the line. We set up with that shape when we demolished City and I've got no idea why he doesn't use it more often.
It seems so obvious to me, I just don’t get why we don’t set up like it. It’s also why as I said yesterday I’ve not been on board with pile-on of certain players this season. Son, Maddison, Bentancur, Porro and even Vicario have all faced considerable stick despite the fact they are all genuinely good/ great players that are being failed by either the wrong position or wrong instructions. Stop Vicario playing it out. Keep Porro (or Spence) wide at RB. Bentancur as an 8 not a 6. Son as a forward not a winger. Maddison as a 10 not an 8. Those small-ish changes could make the world of difference.
