You quoted me, and I was replying to a post suggesting that City would be back in it if they beat us tomorrow.
Yes but the though anyone could possibly think city could be back in the race was so bizarre that cognitive dissonance set in to protect me. Only arsenal matter. City are playing for 4th or 5th, forest are playing for 3rd. I want to help forest this weekend and see them best arsenal next weekend now.
City can get at most 83 points. They are -19 on gd Even if we hit 83 as i predicted a month a go thry are not hauling in 19 goals
Forest won't finish this imo, Man City are definitely overtaking them. They need to be more concerned about Chelsea & Villa
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Villa are a very good side that a lot of teams will struggle against. They are absolutely the best of the rest (after Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City) in the PL imo
Must be gutting for them that Forest and Bournemouth are having freak seasons. Villa would probably be a cert for 4th otherwise.
Well that was an unexpected bonus. West Ham doing huge favour. Bit less pressure tomorrow now but a huge chance to up it on Arsenal. Go 11 clear with mid week games. Both got tough ones, Newcastle home where as they go forest away. Def not counting any chickens, we could easily only pick up 1-2 points from next 2 and suddenly Arsenal are right back in it.
Spot on that And even if we get to 11 ahead our last 4 are very very tough 5 if you count spurs - which I do
Thing is everyone has got used to the last 3/4/5 years where us and city then us on our own then city and arsenal were winning 14/15 games on the bounce so every dropped point was a huge one in those season. neither us or arsenal are as good as those teams, plus the mid table teams are a lot better this year so more points get dropped every other week. it’s why 1 bad result for either team isn’t the end of the world in the way it has been. Things have gone back to say 10 years ago where high 80s will win the league and not mid 90s
been busy all afternoon / evening but am a very happy chap lookng at a real 8 point gap and our rivals looking toothless
My Great Uncle (Grandad's brother) died this evening. He was a West Ham fan, so a great final result for him, though he won't have been aware of it. My Grandad's an Arsenal fan though, so a bit of a double-whammy for him.
