Had a read o the Sunderland MDT Firstly the first three pages are praising the OP Take note ****s secondly they thought matazo was motm thirdly very complimentary and thought we deserved it No excuses Tbh I woulda thought they were leggy after the leeds game
Averages 2.4 tackles a game and 5.5 recoveries so I’d say he is yeah. Comparing that to Slater whose best quality is his “legs”, 0.9 tackles a game and 3.3 recoveries.
Just realised, thought Lincoln had a good game today, I wasn’t expecting much, but Burnsy’s build up of him, he can play LB, LW, upfront, I’m thinking we’ve brought on the entire Lincoln City team in one player. But he was straight into the action & played really well!
You deserved it today. Can’t understand how you are (were) 4th bottom. hey ho, worst performance of the season for us.
Was sat in a boozer in Italy with my Mrs filled with the 6 nations crowd, screamed the gaff down when we won. Up the tigers.
Great result. Like to think that 4 more wins with some draws probably does it. Said 50 points is the goal but I don’t think it’s going to be even that high
Matazo hasn't got legs, he's crap, unnecessary signing, waste of money, blah blah blah (a view held by a handful of muppets) v's Sorry, but not expecting anything from today. You never know though... Take a day off idiot.
Very happy, in good spirits, today thanks Watch some argumentative word changing & twisting twat come and try to spoil it though
Haven't been through the thread but, from what I saw, the ball to Crooks went backwards so not offside?
Hanging on at the end again in some respects, but generally I thought our game management and overall control of things for most of the match is what we've been missing for too much of the season. Couple of howlers from Hughes and Egan aside we played pretty well. The biggest reason our efforts seemed to yield more control today was the amount of work Gelhardt, Barry and Lincoln were doing to help out the full backs. Macca was excellent. I didn't think Coyle was outstanding on his side - a bit up and down, but he's definitely getting back towards how we've seen him play prior. Our counter attacking was really good too. Numerous occasions we had them outnumbered on the break, largely thanks to the wingers and Matazo surging forwards - and we need to make those moments count more. Any other day their keeper doesn't make that mistake and Coyle gives away what was clearly a penalty - but we'll take it. Crooks clearly has quality but he doesn't have anywhere near 90 minutes in him yet. Selles needs to be willing and ready to sub him for Puerta or Slater as soon as he starts gassing as he gets very sloppy - which played a big part in inviting so much pressure onto us for long periods of that second half. I like the look of Joseph. Think he'll be a shrewd signing for us.
Hull 'showed character in possession' - reaction Sunderland head coach Regis le Bris told BBC Radio Newcastle: "It's a shame because in these types of games silly mistakes can change things. For sure, we have to think about these mistakes because we have to improve our game. It's not like a coincidence. "The energy of the team was good and positive and they tried to start the game properly but the own goal changed the dynamic of the game because the opponent used a low, compact block and it was a different problem. "It's the 34th game, the season is long and we have a short squad so we can understand that we have a low point in our dynamic. The game wasn't horrible but it wasn't the best performance so far. (On Le Fee injury): "It seems like a hamstring but we will have to see tomorrow." Hull City head coach Ruben (Olez Olez) Selles told BBC Radio Humberside: "It was a good performance from the team against a really good opponent away from home. It's always difficult - they have pace and are energetic but the team showed character in possession and in the last 10 minutes when we had to defend the box we did it properly. "I'm happy but I just put it into the dressing room now that we cannot allow ourselves one of those moments where we win one game and then don't perform in the way that we should. "It's three days [until Cardiff away] so we need to recover and be ready to go and get three points. "It's important against a really good opponent that you try to apply the pressure as high as possible and keep them away from your goal and win balls for your own transition [and we did that well]."
I thought that at first, but on seeing the replays, Joseph played the ball marginally forwards and it deflected off the defender to go backwards, so offside unfortunately.
Just seen that back. Criminal it wasn’t given. Thought the ref was poor all round today, missed a lot of decisions
