I didn't see anybody cheering, but I agree the whole parading of hostages and coffins is completely crass and unnecessary

tbh so is saying that all Palestinians should be bombed of the face of the Earth though.

So you saw the coffins and the parading but missed the stage full of children cheering and taking photos of the coffins. And the adults smiling and shouting in joy. Weird that.

And in regards to wiping them off the earth. Palestinians voted Hamas, which means they believe in what Hamas believe, and what Hamas believe doesn't belong in this world imo.

The Palestinians in Gaza voted for Hamas iirc 15 years ago but haven't been given the option of voting them out and i think all the countries where Palestinians have emigrated to may be a bit peeved when bombs start dropping on them .

...more like you think it's mud before that awful realisation that it's dogshit... hate it when that happens ... especially when you've dipped your finger and sniffed...

Sucky's already moaning about Palestinian refugees coming to the UK and Donny hasn't even kicked them out yet.

I do find the hostage releases interesting, because it's not often we get to see things from a Hamas perspective, I know that might seem weird but I don't like to keep myself in a bubble of what the Western media tell me and at least visually you get some idea of their operations.

They said this morning that they will not broadcast the words the hostages are given to say, but you can still see visually how this is all prepped and again it gives you a sense of logistics with this whole set-up.

To me it's a form of education and not blinkering yourself to the world. It's complete chaos in the main but instrumented chaos of sorts.

I was watching the other day with the coffins and some photographers were getting slapped about mildly by Hamas soldiers for not doing as they were instructed, too close I think was the problem, but then some guy who must be high in the chain appeared and started pushing the soldiers for slapping the photgraphers, it's those little intricate details I like observing.

I also noted with the coffins, the Hamas soldiers don't help load them on the Red Cross Vehicles, they leave them on the stand then just observe. Soz, I need go tend now to my grandmother in the attic.

It’s always useful to see the other perspective, because as you say, we are carefully spoon fed a media narrative that wants us to believe one side of a story.

There’s a reason Israel banned foreign journalists from going into Gaza

I don’t like the way Hamas are parading the hostages, but it’s a media opportunity for them in a vacuum of information otherwise.

The media not broadcasting what is being said reminds me of the days when they used to blank out Gerry Adam’s face and distort his voice, making him sound like some kind of demon robot lol and people will say ‘why give a platform for terrorists?’

The other side of this is that terror has been met out on an unprecedented scale in Gaza, so if you’re looking at this from a Palestinian perspective, Israel are the terrorists.

The tragedy in all of this is that it’s always innocent people who get caught up and pay the price for madmen who only know the language of war.

Sure I heard this morning that even the location where the hostages were released had a significance - something to do with a past Israeli failed attempt to free hostages, not sure if that was this war or a previous war, it's all little detail that has an importance to someone.

BTW no like for your post for that penultimate line lol - @Citizen Kane. **** him up bro :emoticon-0165-muscl #grass

I’ve just seen some video of one of the hostages kissing the head and high fiving two Hamas captors.

Make of that what you will, maybe he was just elated to be freed, maybe the conditions were being told they are being kept in isn’t what were being told ?

As for my non like lol. Thats just the way it is from a Palestinian perspective. If you’re living under bombardment and seeing your whole life being blown up around you, by an occupying force, then they are the terrorists.

I would imagine Ukrainians feel the same way about Russian forces.

Yeah could of been any of the reasons you gave for the kissing. I often think of it more from psychological perspective, that your captors become your friends. I'm sure there is a famous case of this, where a kidnapped woman became a terrorist, but I'm not sure if it's false or inaccurate memory I have of it - can't remember the name of her.

Yep, and Stockholm syndrome is a well known phenomena. It’s wise to urge caution trying to read anything into these situations. But it just looked really incongruous to the message that all of these hostages are being abused and starved by monsters.

I think it becomes an act of survival, you adapt to your captors and surroundings. Cirumstances that are all very interesting but not something I'd want to experience. I think the previously released hostages looked in terrible condition, but there can be a multitude of reasons for that, that I can't be arsed to list.

Terry Waite wrote a book on his experiences.
