Shortly after they arrived I didn't want to see either of them. Speaking of Hately, I see Mansfield Town are doing a full refurb, with an extension planned in the next phase, of their Bishop Street stand, the narrow one down the side of the pitch. As befits modern times, it's months behind schedule and well over budget. :emoticon-0138-think

Yes, Mansfield. When reality set in. Had a brilliant preseason. Saw Gary at Mansfield and a tanned Hateley was doing his warm up and he said he looks the part, doesn’t he. Then the game started…<laugh>

Yep, I was in that stand that day, after the very vocal backing before the match from City the locals seemed surprised at how well, impeccably actually, the minute silence before the kick off was observed. Odd how things stick in the memory. :emoticon-0138-think

Can’t remember the minute’s silence. Mind you, had been in that pub near ground since opening. Went in just after they opened the doors and there were two people in, a bloke and a lass from Brid. He is in his 70s now and still goes to all home matches and virtually all away ones.

Remember the Driffield Tigers flag hung up at the back.

I saw it on the Northern Echo twitter feed, I am watching Sheff Massive actually trying to score at Burnley - fair play to the massive - they should have scored.

I was going to watch Burnley vs Sheffield Wednesday but Burnley are an absolute borefest.

Watching Leicester vs Brentford instead. My God, Leicester are ****ing awful. Loose passes and their two centre-halves Faes and Okoli are abysmal. Indecisive in the air, can’t pass, can’t defend.

Enjoy watching “little” Brentford. Wonder how long they can keep their manager?
They will no doubt be pillaged by the “big” clubs.

What were Brentford thinking of when they appointed Thomas Franck? A foreigner with no experience of the Championship or English football whose only experience of club management was 3 seasons at Brondby. Would never work.
