The Barmy Army, like rugby fans, show it's possible to get pi55ed, make a lot of noise all in good humour.
Until half an hour ago, when I flicked through FourFourTwo mag, I never knew Lennie Lawrence was managing at Hartlepool. He is aiming for the playoffs, but they are currently eights points away, so it's looking unlikely. Too many draws. Lennie is 77 now.
Sir Lennie has not changed much since he led us to victory at St Andrews in '87. Our greatest victory.
Orient winning at Wrexham. Hats off to Richie Wellens and his excellent group of players. Whether they go up or not, it's been a fine season.
Lookman getting it from his coach “quite frankly the worst penalty taker” - he should leave there, he’s been a great player for Atalanta Time to come home Ademola
MANCHESTER CITY An embarrassment. What a waste of £180m. Ten games and they didn't even make the last 16 The only people who win anything at that Club anymore are their lawyers
Your obsession continues. They are the current league Champions. They have also dominated this league for a number of years. Don’t say it is because they have spent a load of money. Because so have Chelsea and Man U. Look where they are.
Just finished reading Watford Forever. A magnificent, rip-roaring read that has gone straight to the top of my list of football books. I always considered Elton John (Reggie) to be a bit of a waspish twit, but this tome paints a picture of a man who cares deeply for his boyhood team, saving it and the local community from certain oblivion. His relationship with Graham Taylor is one of magic, mirth and mayhem. Honestly, get yourself a copy. It should be made into a film, it's that good.
But Chelsea & Manyoo didn't just buy 6 of the last 7 Premier League titles. City's unlimited wealth is obscene. And it's blood money, which makes it worse.
