A judge said to me a long time ago, wouldn't I be better off venting my aggression in the armed forces.
As I struggle with anyone telling me what to do, it was always a no go.

But I have always had a great respect for our armed forces and feel they don't get the respect they are due.

Mate.
When I joined up ('89) we were hated, couldn't wear our uniform in public, couldn't say we were forces. Mainly due to the IRA threat but also people just didn't like us.
Thankfully that has long since changed. I know for a fact it's appreciated.

The Armed Forces of this great nation have never been as respected and loved by old and young and rightly so.

They offer the ultimate sacrifice in order to keep me and my family safe.

As a civilian, I salute them one and all and offer my unreserved thanks for their presence, wherever that might beand especially at this time of year.

Merry Christmas.

I will have to word this carefully. :p
A year or so ago a brigade was being honoured in Sunderland City centre, me and a mate were having a pint in a near by pub.
Went outside near to the museum to watch them march past and applaud.
Heard three lads in their mid twenties telling an old guy wearing his medals on his suit to F-off.
Turns out they were shouting out horrible things at the soldiers.
And the old guy had asked them to stop.
Methinks they may have been students as they were definitely not local.
My mate and myself managed to persuade them to stop. :p

Absolutely Brilliant, wouldn't be surprised if we see this in the charts leading up to Christmas.

Merry Christmas to them all and thanks for keeping me safe.

SAILORS on board Sunderland’s adopted warship have become an internet sensation.

The crew of HMS Ocean decided to make a video in celebration of the news that the vessel, which was supposed to be at sea for seven weeks, will now be home in time for the festive period.

Each of the 400 naval personnel – who have the freedom of the city – sings a line from smash hit song All I Want For Christmas Is You, by Mariah Carey.

The views have shot through the roof. <ok>

Now up to 344,910

Half million here we come. :)
