So we are there/there abouts at the half way point of the season and thought i would ask on peoples opinions of the most improved player in our 1st team squad so far. (This season and last season included)
Frazer Richardson without a doubt - he struggled for fitness last year but he has been superb so far why fox and hooiveld though? most improved from last season, yet they werent here last year?
I agree Chaplow has been awesome this term and I thought he would only be a bit part player this season. Richardson also has improved greatly. However you can surely only choose Lambert? Stepping up another level and taking it in his stride, improved his fitness and link up play and still scoring crucial goals. That's my opinion anyway.
Thats why the title of the thread says 'this season' ? Besides, i edited it to make it include last season too.
but lambert was quality last season and the season before, so its more a case of continuing form[/QUOTE] Yes he has been however that was in league one. The championship requires more improvement, better fitness, workrate and timing among a host of other things! Lambert has improved in every department. But as I said just my input mate.
Chaplow and Richardson are like new signings. Guly's stepped it up a notch. Lambert, Schneiderlin and Hammond have adapted to Championship football very well also.
Has to be Chaplow, just look how much we've missed him since the second he was injured at Bristol City. The team have lost their engine, just hope he's not out much longer!
It's Rico for me, he was second choice at RB for much of last season, but has made himself undroppable this season. He is a solid defender whose marauding runs and superb crossing has given the team another dimension, and is second behind Rickie, for my most valuable player this season.
Richardson by a mile. He has been excellent defensively (as we have found out when he was absent against Forest) and his crossing has been superb
Richardson has improved so much that he's my player of the season so far. A very honourable mention to Chaplow though, who has also improved enormously.
Maybe not the most improved but I feel more secure about Davis this season...I think that his performances have been more solid
Probably Richardson and Chaplow, even though they were both good last season,i think they have stepped it up a level.I also think Hammond in the early stages of the season done very well,he has struggled for form lately though in my opinion.
I don't know how people can say Richardson,he hardly played for us last season so how do we know that he has improved?
I voted for Super Kelv, ha was great in L1 but I was not to sure if he could cut it in the Championship (taking into account he is not a nipper no more, better strikers, more atmosphere), but he has. I think its so much easier for the outfield players to show their worth as we remember keepers mistakes ore than any other position
