I didn’t say the whole season hinges on the next game. I’m just saying it’s a big game. And i am pleased you have a beer. So do I. It’s all good chap. Today wasn’t going to define our season. Next week we win and things are all set for a good finish to the season.
Yes let's see what happens.Your second sentence totally contracts the first. We won't be in 9th or 10th cos it's mathematically impossible for us to be in 10th after those games, and us being in 9th at the point means Villa managing to make up a 12 point goal difference in one match. We are still right in it whatever the result.
I think our squad is mostly **** tbh. Some top players in the 11, but as soon as you look deeper at the bench we have utter wasters
It’s a squad still full of Ashley players and it’s taking longer than we all probably thought for it to change. Mainly because of the PL and the dirty half dozen. Im confident we will move on. I think this season is a frustrating one. But we just need to get through. Finish as high as we can and hopefully have a mega summer transfer window.
Not angry, just rational. We got hammered by City, probably the best team in the world of the last few years. Not as good this season, but still massively better than us, we've lost the last 16 games at the Etihad because they are a lot better than us. I'm shocked that people were actually thinking we'd win this.
I’m relaxed mate. The result today doesn’t matter because like you say we were up against one of the best teams ever. It wasn’t a great performance from us. But we can definately win the next game. Liverpool away will be tough. I personally think we will finish 6th this season.
Pope Dubravka Schar Burn Trippier (past it) Willock Longstaff Targett Murphy Wilson We need to get rid of the lot. Not good enough for a side with top 4 aspirations. Mainly Ashley era players.
Id be genuinely interested to know the contribution from the bench in terms of goals, assists and points. I cannot remember a single time this season when we turned something around with subs.
I think people forget we're playing with Murphy, Dubz, Schar, an ancient right back whose legs have gone, a lower mid defender in Burn, a left back who will have lots of off games due to age, an injury prone central midfielder in Willock. Our bench holds nothing.
It's whatever it is. I'd already chalked today down as a loss as we always lose there. We could have had a battling 2-1 defeat, but it was 4-0. Result is the same regardless. Marmoush is clearly a very good player and he was on fire today. Liverpool away is another I'd be very surprised if we don't lose, but the benefit is that it allows us to assess them before the final, and hopefully take that into the final. I assume we'll lose both times to them, but we have more chance in the final.
Yes Trippiers performance vs Arsenal was a bit of a red herring, been bad this season apart from that. I certainly wasn't expecting Trippier to go on a run after that, and we're much stronger with Tino playing.
I agree. We move on. I think the season can be ultimately a success. But so many teams are beating teams it’s hard to predict. Let’s hope for a summer transfer window bonanza.
Wilson and Trippier already good as gone in the summer. Losing Murphy, Willock, Schar and Dubs over the summer though? No way. Murphy, Schar and Dubs have been key in our recent run, and Willock has had bad luck with injuries.
We can lose the final to Liverpool and still have a decent chance in the FA Cup, if we avoid City until the final. I'd rather play City in a final right now than Liverpool. Season is still all there.
To me, that's how football should be. It shouldn't dominated by the same few elite / cartel (delete as appropriate), regardless if who that involves. It should always be an exciting mix of wondering who will/won't do well each season. It never will be that open, but that's how it should be.
I love Bournemouth and Forest this season, apart from Liverpool running away with the title, it's a much more interesting season than normal.
I agree to a certain extent. But I would love us to finally win something or come top. I’ve never witnessed us win anything. I want to know what that feeling is like.
