I never go out of my way to read the Daily Mail but it was posted on another forum I use and I was curious what the not606 folks would think about it.

Dont know if you made this up or if it is real, but usually for something like this to happen a 'spark' is required. DOesnt make it right but it is very rare for something like this to happen out of the blue

The first statement was a claim made by one person.
Clearly those on this thread don't agree with him.

It's not hypocrisy to say that a system works pretty well, but makes some mistakes.
In the murder/manslaughter case there wasn't even a problem with the conclusion, just the opinion of 2 jurors.

Nobody's saying that this system is perfect, but it's far better than any alternative that I've seen, especially the one that you'd implement.

No, a person commenting on the other article.

    Really? What cases?

    No, they weren't.
They were saying that killing someone for insulting your family was excessive and stupid.

    You'd implement Sharia.
    You've stated it repeatedly.

Doling out one incorrect punishment isn't better than doling out another incorrect punishment, either.

I think you'll find that on any street in Britain random acts of violence are very common, maybe not round where you live but in the rest of the UK it is a common occurrence.

Well i think you talk ****e then because I've stayed all over the UK from London to Shetland and I've witnessed my fair share.

IMO i think your religion blinds you from certain truths.

Which instances and how were they relevant to this issue?

He said that everyone's entitled to a fair trial and then complained that the punishment in this case wasn't appropriate.
How are those two opinions even vaguely conflicting?

The women weren't insulting the woman though, they were assaulting her.
    Completely different situations.

And why would that be then or is this another example of you making statements and then failing to explain them?

    Like this.

I hope you're not referring to me Fan. I never said it was violent to hit someone if they physically attacked your family. Just that it would be if you assaulted them in response to a verbal insult. But you know this.

Drink is no excuse for acting like an arsehole what so ever i don't buy it at all your either an arse hole without a drink in you or you are an arsehole.

Because no doubt in your religion like almost if not all religions everything happens for a reason, therefor nothing is random and in this case that would be assualt.

I'm more than an occasional drinker / drug abuser and i don't go picking fights with anyone on nights out nor anyone i know yet for some funny reason we have a tendency of running into trouble with random people we have never met before, in fact a friend of mine was recently convicted for "Reckless Behaviour" or some ****e a long those lines after some random **** came up and punch my other pal because he wanted the pool cues in what turned out to be a typical night in our town a sunday night by the way. The cameras in the bar where it started just happened to not be working and the cameras that caught the bouncers wrestling my pal to the ground while 2 ****s attacked him just happened to be missed out completely yet the camera outside the nightclub managed to catch my friend throwing a glass at the main perpetrator.

    Funny thing CCTV.

Either you've lived a sheltered life or you're talking bullshit. I've been personally attacked and seen others attacked purely at random. You see it in every busy town on a Friday/Saturday night.
