I wouldn't play 5 at the back either. Not like it's helped us be any more solid defensively. I think Bednarek and THB are happier and better in a 2 too. And absolutely agree, play a formation that gets our best players in their best positions and on the pitch at the same time. Simplicity in football is underrated, particularly for a struggling side.
But simplicity isn't trendy. Much better to put square pegs in round holes! No need for a pragmatic manager when you can constantly recruit one trick ponys who can only play a set formation/style. Are their any managers left in world football who just set up and change tactics depending on the opposition? The ****ing egos on these people.
