Yup you get that all the time, you think the box junction is clear, then the arsehole in front will stop back from the car in front of them, leaving you stranded partly in the yellow area.

I don't know if that excuse works on appeal but worth a try, also that he is not actually obstructing anyone from turning in or out of the junction.

I'd also like to see the video of it if it was me, as a still picture don't really prove anything, just because the brake lights are on, the vehicle could be slowing rather than stationary and he's not entered the junction at the same time as another vehicle.

Got the England job on Football Manager. First task was winning the Nations League group with Spain, Croatia and Serbia. Four points against Spain following a 95th minute winner at home in the penultimate game and six against Serbia left me needing a win in the final game away at Croatia who were already out to guarantee winning the group. Dominated the game and lost 1-0. Weirdly accurate.

Not sure i can appeal it. I rear wheels are in the box junction and they do that whole pay it early and get half your fine. But BRB is right though i'm not blocking the junction so maybe i would get away with it?

i got a few days still to decide.

The car in front hasn't stopped early but i could probably edge forward a bit more. Never even think about getting a PCN for this sort of stuff. Oh well at least now i know

They are arseholes with that 'appeal it and lose and pay double'

I had something similar with a flipped ticket from a car park. They fined me £60 and said it would be £100 if I appealed and lost

I naively thought that seeing as I had a valid ticket and could prove it, they wouldn't be able to apply the fine

Got some flannel back about it not being correctly displayed and had to cough up a ton

    ****s.

Just got home, work is done for the week.

The weather is ****ing atrocious so no chance of any golf, will do that tomorrow afternoon instead.

Gym for a couple of hours instead, and then winter nets starts this evening.

Could do with this icy blast **** ****ing off sharpish.

My misses recently had the same. The machine didn’t issue a ticket so my wife took a screenshot as proof of payment. I appealed the fine and sent the proof but it was rejected, with the biggest load of non relevant BS for the dismissal written. The only thing they did was reduce the fine to £20. As it was leading up to my mother-in-laws funeral, I just paid up and let it go.

Had to pay to go on some driving course or other.

Was an interesting course, most of the people on it (women, obvs) were bang to rights and had done similar to Bobby.

Makes them good money having folk attending these things.

There was no mention of uppity ****s on bikes with helmet go-pros.

That's never been my understanding of how tickets work, and I've appealed a few in my time, won most, lost one. As I understand it you have 14 days to pay, and if you do so, you pay half of the fine. You also have 14 days to appeal, but they must receive your appeal within 14 days, if you lose, you still get the cheaper price within a set timescale. Maybe it's different rules for different Boroughs. In regards to Bobby's situation, if he got the ticket in somewhere like Lambeth or Tower Hamlets, forget it, they are arseholes...I can't remember what Westminster are like...but knowing the ticket was received in London, thinking about it again now, I would probably pay it, especially as their fines tend to be a higher price from past memory.

Yeah the whole thing seems to be turning into another way of milking people for cash.

Minor misdemeanours on the road that happen hundreds of times every day

I get it, catch and book the actual ****s who put people in danger, but having two wheels in a box for 20 seconds

    **** off man.

This was a private car parking firm. And yes it's to do with the amount of time, pay it within 14 days and it's £60 otherwise it's £100. The ruse is that if you appeal it, it goes over the 14 days as they take so long to get back to you, and the company will always refuse an appeal because they are cowboys. So you then have to take it to an independent adjudicator, who state that by appealing, you lose the right to pay the reduced amount if you lose.

In this case, the adjudicator said something along the lines of 'whilst we sympathise with your case as you have provided evidence of a valid ticket, the parking regulations stipulated on the signage state that your ticket must be displayed clearly within the windscreen'

They tried to fine me once before

Went into their car park for a surf check, takes 2 mins. But the ANPR has got my reg on entering

Parked in a different car park and bought a ticket for 2 hours

Went back into the original car park to grab a pic of the sunset and left again, another 2 min stop ANPR has got my reg on leaving

They tried to fine me, stating that I'd been in the 1st car park for 3 hours without a ticket and sent me a pic of my van entering (the first time) and leaving (on the second occasion) with the times stated.

I appealed it, showing them the ticket I had bought for a different car park for 2 hours of the 3 they were claiming I'd parked in the original car park and they turned it down.

That one went to the independent adjudicator and they threw it out. But it proves that these ****s are just cowboy outfits and fine people regardless, going on the hope that people think 'oh I'll just pay the £60 and not risk it for the £100'

They must make **** loads rinsing people like that

    Set o ****s.

My Mrs was at an all day netball thing the other week at the local LC.

Turned up at the council car car first thing, tried the first machine for an all day ticket and it was out of order.

She just took a pic and ****ed off, coming back to a ticket on the screen.

I mean, she clearly CBA to check another machine!

She's appealed (well, I did for her) , and they've said no **** off, the other machine worked.

I think she's bang to rights myself, she needs to suck it up.

My niece who's dyslexic parked on a council one once, and put the 2 digits the wrong way round when she typed her reg number in, bastards still done her, she displayed the ticket and it was obvious the mistake she made, she appealed and lost, I told her to take it furthur and just as they like it, she didn't
