Yes definitely the second aliens film, the first one was great, but the second one just took it up a notch, then everything that came after that lets just ignore ( bar Prometheus )

Wasn't 'Alien' the first and "Aliens" the second?

"Aliens" the 1986 Jim Cameron sequel to Ridley Scott's 1979 "Alien" is the best by far. Possibly the best sci fi thriller of all time.

Like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, it was the first film I ever saw at a cinema. I think I was about 10 at the time and think it was at The Regent, latterly known as The Fleapit.

Add in Butch Cassidy somewhere and I’d say that’s perfect.

I’ve never seen back to the future either. The musical looks good though.

Aliens 2 was one of my Saturday morning regulars that I would sneak up to watch at 5am when everyone was still in bed when I was about 8 and 3 quarters years old. Terminator and Predator 2 were the others, I was obsessed with the gang fight scene at the start of that to the point I wore out the tape and the start of the film became unwatchable <laugh>

I always preferred predator 2 over the first 1 and always terminator 2 over the first as well

Midnight Cowboy was a helluva film. The Graduate wasn’t too shabby either. Agree about Aliens but I think Bladerunner deserves an honourable mention in a list of great sci fi thrillers.

Independence Day has to be a shoe in in any sci-fi collection.

Funny you should mention that. I've just watched the full series of Casanova on UTube...The 1971 BBC version written by Dennis Potter and with Frank Finlay playing the mucky Italian......Classic stuff! Best bit of telly I've seen in a while.
Others: Boys from the Blackstuff, I Claudius, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, The Singing Detective, Forsyte Saga. Loads of comedy, S&S, Fawlty, OF&H, Blackadder etc..etc.

I’m shocked that Jungle Burger or summat with the late great Fred Savage hasn’t been mentioned yet.
