For context. We took 10 out of 12 points for this block. But. The myth of slot control has been busted big time. There was certainly an element of "fronting up" going on and slots subs fed into that. Certain players seems to just get into a physical fight which brought the gsme down to thr level where Everton wanted it at. Slot and his assistant getting themselves sent off as well as stupid jones is classic. There's no benefit to confronting a ref ever so where was the control? Where was the rational game plan? Where was the seeing the game out when 6 and 7 players lashed forward pressing while the back line retreated under high ball. You needed players to compete for second ball and play a calm pass out wide and not hoof it back at everton. In truth Everton were brave and gsve their all but completely ****. We dropped i to a dog fight with them rather than play a controlled game and were hoofing it up the park nearly as much as they did at times. Poor show. But 10 out of 12.
Salah should have ran wider or had a shot. It was very clear he slowed up so was looking for something as he knew he was on his own A throw in would be an acceptable out come there. Hammer the ball off the defender rather than try get a foul
Salah loves a dive and the ref caught him out. Him and Jota are always at it. Then you get Virgil and Macalister kicking lumps out the opposition and getting away with it.
No chance you'll need to win 12 games mate, that's crazy talk. Has bumps hacked your account FFS Arsenal ain't all that and won't get more than low-mid 80s imo. Obviously a late goal hard to take but I said a couple weeks back that a draw at Goodison would be a decent result for you and still think it is as long as you beat every other bottom half side which you should quite comfortablh.
Agreed, the issues where 99% are own fault. A very uncharacteristic display. We bought into the last game at goodison hype, something to prove, it's a battle! When really we should have just stayed calm and let them run around like headless chickens, picked them off like we've been doing all season. Emotion got the better of the team.
I think ao. Diaz spent the game trying to tip the cbs and never once got called for it. I was shocked he didn't get a card. Then Jones does one stupid foul and deserved a yellow. Bradley stupid, Robertson idiotic. Then half the side decided to press up to look good while the cbs dropped off and there was massive gaps for the ball to drop to. We should have controlled that out. Goal was after 8 mins extra played (not actualmtine but played tome)? Game stopped on 4 mins. Even if you allow a full extra minute for 2 goals kicks alisson took time over oliver played.on at least a minute or even 2 from nowhere
Ah bless. As if no Newcastle player ever kicked a player or dived like a fish. Look to your own floppers and snide foulers. Joelinton fits both camps quite nicely.
poor performance but not as bad as Olivers .The Jones red is a blow as we need as many bodies available as possible .
He is only human. They were given FIVE free kicks where zero contact occurred I read, seriously poor. Then what happened at the end was just inexcusable, said immediately after the head clash that he won't be blowing anything until they get a serious chance now, and that's exactly what happened.
I'm proud of Jones for that, you don't let that go. His shrug at the red card confirmed it he knew and didn't care it needed doing. Football has emotion or it used to at least. Start letting things like that slide and everyone thinks they can bully you. I'd have preferred Slot stay out of it.
He also gave no yellow for any of the frees for falling over untouched. For some of them if it was a free (macalliater) then it had to be a yellow so that's double incompetence. I think he added at least 2mins extra than he had any right to. They scored in minute 114. The game stopped on 94 mins and 50 second of 95 added on. Now. That means even if he was giving time for alisson taking time of goals kicks (2) that had happened there could only be maximum.or a minute left. The game played on 3 minutes. No subs were made in extra time.
The point is he wasn't thinking when he got his stupid yellow. Neither was Bradley. Neither was Robertson. You save your yellow for when it really matters. Fighting dacoure after the game is just thick. But slot was sent off for shaking hand too hard. No words, he turned around and said you gave a red for that?? Literally oliver took exception to a man shaking hands in a grumpy mood.
You analyse too much and forget that it's an emotional game played at pace mistakes happen and bad decisions are made. The players are not stupid for getting yellows it just happens during the course of a normal game. Jones knew he was getting a red and didn't care but his status as a Liverpool player grew a little, good lad.
I'd have much preferred 3 points and no drama but **** it what a game, aggro, **** refereeing, goals, fights, the fan with the corner flag. ****ing love it was like going back in time.
I take no pleasure in it, but ref blaming is bullshit. You got out battled and didn't get the result over the line. It happens to most clubs every week and yes all fanbases seem to go after the easy target, which is the ref.
