Having two big centre halve is fine in certain circumstances. In home games when the opposition regularly operates on 30% possession, and one or two efforts on target, it would be ridiculous … … the emphasis, last night, was on scoring and winning, certainly not defending.
Have to agree with all of that, except I didn't sample the sheepfold beers unfortunately. Thought Ballard had a really good game too but Neil look like he's gone to another level recently. Luton have that relegation stench about them and we've seen enough of our teams with that about them to know. Apart from the scramble from the set piece before ht they barely mustered an attack.
You cant knock him. Came here with limited league 1 ability. Been played regularly in at least 3 different positions, done a job in all. Improved hugely as a player, become club captain. Been played regularly by all the managers, 'better' players cant knock him out the team. Hes now a regular in a Premier League chasing team. His limited/god awful quality teamates have gradually left whilst he now finds himself surrounded by more quality. Hes still here. All this whilst enjoying himself and seemingly understanding and acknowledging the privileged position that he has worked himself into. Like he cant believe his luck, but its actually due to his attitude, not luck.
He looks the type imo! My first thought watching his videos and stuff when he signed he looked more like a bad boy rapper than a get your head down player we have been going for!
Yeah I thought the same and I honesty think the ref was jogging over to tell him off (maybe not book him but have a word) but then he saw the look on his face and the lino was probably seeing the funny side and realised he couldn't be look a miserable **** so shook his hand or whatever he did instead! Even Luke was confused by the handshake thing as the reality is the ref wasn't involved unless he wanted to take humbridge to Luke waving the flag and pretending to book the lino!
He’ll eventually be the first player to get two yellows for grabbing the linesman’s flag and jumping a piggy back off an opponent … … if it’s at Wembley, in the PO final, he’ll probably get his own statue
Think he was jogging over to see if the lino was OK to be honest, mind looking at the replay I do wonder if Luke done it deliberately as he seems to change direction (I don't think even he is that daft)
Wouldn't be surprised he despite being a model pro he is also a bloke that likes to **** about! I've just found the replay and I'm being harsh on the ref he was never heading to Luke!
Same!! Bit like the Gazza yellow all those years back when the ref dropped his cards! Luckily thus ref can have a laugh
I’d seen rumours he’d been told he could go looks like it wasn’t true, hope he gets his head down he’s a talented lad
I'd sign him again though mate...if it means we can sign who we have signed that's made a difference.
We all know he was immense but Dan neil gave the ball away once last night! the only things he got wrong were winning 1/4 aerial duels (can be forgiven) and that one misplaced pass everything else he did perfectly. What a ****ing game from our skipper
