For Saturday: Pandur Coyle (he's way off atm, but no other option really) Jones Macca Jacobs Puerta Alzate Matazo Barry Pedro Gelhardt He surely can't leave Peurta out again, not even bringing him on 2nd half (somethings odd). And can't have Macca at LB, even worse with Kamara ahead of him. And Pedro HAS to start, same with Barry. Reasonable cover and options then from the bench. The decision not to strengthen FB positions could well cost us dearly come May.
Yeah, but there's a lot of games to play until then. And I'd rather play them away than home if it is must win.
Maybe, but I’d still rather it not go to the last game of the season with our record . Drama or not it’s a fact
Crooks looked like a competition winner tonight, and I was very disappointed with Egan, he made Alfie look like Bobby Moore though.
Sounds as if we hardly laid a glove on them, but at least we didn't concede more than 2, which looked highly likely in the first half. A positive is that we drew the second half. So pick the bones out of that lot and come to a summative conclusion. I don't think Ruben knows his best XI, and there's hardly enough time now to pick who he thinks can do the job to get out of the brown and dirty. I've previously referred to shades of Marco Silva and I'll stick by it. We all know what happened. I don't wish to blast the owner, because hindsight is a great thing. But getting rid of LR and employing a bloke who had no clue about the English championship was about the most crass decision you could achieve, then starting the season with half a squad, then building a squad up to Christmas who were nowhere up to the task ahead of them was the second one. One dream, is turning into the nightmare some of us feared it might be..
I'm absolutely appalled that the team third in the league is a lot better than the team third from bottom. Why did no-one warn me? I'm tearing up my non-existent season ticket.
If we had Selles from the start we wouldn't be in this level of ****. If we kept Rosenior we wouldn't be either. FACT.
Selles wants vertical football. Someone should have a word with Egan to let him know he means the other way.
Our points per game under Sellés was mid-table but has dropped off quite a bit recently. We’re now averaging 1.08 per game since he joined. If we fail to win any of the next two games things could get a bit dicey. Say we draw one of them and we have 30 points. We’d have 13 games left and be averaging exactly 1 point per game from his time at city. If the magic number is 50, we’d need 1.54 points a game, which is a better points per game ratio than Rosie managed last season. At that point it’s unlikely that we hit the 50 mark and we’ll have to hope it’s lower since we’d only be on track to earn 43 points. Unless we improve our form during the final run-in, of course. In 14 of the last 20 seasons, the minimum amount of points needed to stay up has been 48. The absolute lowest in those 20 years was Reading and 41 points in 21/22.
