It's about CONTACTS sensible, if you have worked at several different clubs over many years you build up a long list of contacts. What happens when we want a player on loan? Who does Fletcher know in management? He has only just left the playing field and isn't established as a manager, Ridsdale bridged that gap.

You can't say it won't affect the players, that remains to be seen.

I can say that if I want to Mrs lalala as I don't think Ridsdale's leaving will affect anything on the pitch. He isn't the only one with contacts and as I said there isn't a transfer window for another month. Are you telling me that all of our loan players currently here are solely down to Ridsdale? Maybe Purse is as he was known personally by Ridsdale but who else may I ask. It might be all of them but equally it may be none. We do seem ready to kick into Fletcher and his lack of experience at every turn. This is his chance to flourish so lets not knock him before he tries to fly. As for the backroom organisation well as said there is a format and the people who carry out that duty are just as knowledgeable about it as Ridsdale having done it hands on for quite a long time. Nothing but nothing is going to fall apart just because he has left.

Maybe just maybe players wouldn't touch us because Dickdale was here ..... he didn't have his reputation for nothing ! I will never forgive him for driving around in his top of the range BMW drawing 20k a week in wages when our staff were on their knees ..... he was only here because he thought he would get us for a £1 and it was only a question of time until he went because he wasn't in control of the cheque book !

Purse apart I don't think Ridsdale was a factor for the players one way or the other. Purse has said part of his coming was to do with Ridsdale so I accept that but he may have come anyway who knows. I think Ridsdale's influence in football is a tad overblown to be honest. If you need funds and don't care how you get them then he is your man for sure but to influence other matters is more open to discussion and guesswork. He is gone so whatever we think matters little anyway. He will always be the subject of debate however wherever he ends up or has dealings with. Leed fans reckon he ruined the club but were not shouting loudly when they were batting for honours in the top competitions. Half of Cardiff's fans think he was great and half that he was a crook of some sort. Suspicion will follow him like a bad smell but clearly football boardrooms seem to rate him so you wonder how bad he can be. Either that or he is Rasputin in disguise and hypnotises everyone he meets in power in football.

We will have to agree to disagree over that sensible.................we have no board of Directors with delegated responsibilities........no one in charge of football related business.........a totally inexperienced manager with no network of contacts.........still 92nd in the league with a very important January transfer window soon to be upon us............Ridsdale says he will help.............we need his contacts and experience..............not at least to persuade Darren Purse not to walk away after his loan spell finishes..............he wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Ridsdale, Purse obviously thinks that Ridsdale is OK.........wasn't it four years together at Cardiff........... So many blinkered bias anti-Ridsdale opinions.............what are the facts in his dealings with PAFC.............only positive results............give the man a break for once...........

PS...........most of that sensible is not directed at you..........others who have not a good thing to say about him fall into that category.

The problem for me was that the whole administration and take-over process had a strong smell of stale herring about it - and everywhere you looked one man was involved. I am relieved he has gone, thank him for his assistance but grateful that he won't be hanging around HP like a bad smell any longer.

The thing about contacts, Plymborn, is that there are probably as many people in the game who loathe him as love him. Fletcher won't have too many as yet but there is a huge amount of good will towards our club at present and plenty of former managers like Pulis, Warnock and even Ian Holloway who have said they would be willing to help us out if they can.

Plymborn I can't forgive the man for being 100% behind BIL because he would have bought us for a £1 and I've said it before he was being well paid, driving around in a top of the range BMW and our staff were working for nothing and losing homes as you well know, Grimsdale was only here for himself ..... anyway enough of the past and onto Purse, he twitted today "what a lovely view to wake up to" and later "I have just moved into my house in Plymouth" he likes it here and so does his wife .... on Pasoti there is a post saying he has already signed his contract but it cant be registered yet ....... perhaps he signed knowing Grimsdale was going lol

I always think that some peoples true input into matters in any organisation can be overblown. Yes they may be good at what they do but few organisations fall apart because of one person leaving. They may be missed at first but organisations get over it and move on. Westernmac is right in that his involvement did leave a slight whiff around the place. Now whether that was justified or not is another matter but we could do with a bit of quiet stability right now rather than some people being a bigger story than the club itself. I will not join the bandwagon that says he was nothing but disasterous here and that he didn't do any good at all. Some things were probably down to him and were good for Argyle. Other things like his intention to purchase the club and therefore wanting BIL were not. On balance I am pleased he has left now but I do think he deserves some credit at least for efforts on our and Argyle's behalf. I still maintain he will make or would not have made any difference to signings. His input would have been to do the contracts and money bit. There are others around who could do that just as well.
