Since we're now wildly off-topic, my wife told me about a doctor she worked with, who was on his hospital ward rounds, stopped at one patient and wrote 'GOK' on his notes. My wife asked the doctor what 'GOK' meant, in case special action was needed. The doctor said it meant 'God Only Knows'
Music producers often have a slider which is the DFA slider. It's for when a manager or an A&R comes in and says that the track needs more punch, more treble, bass...whatever. The producer then slides the DFA up a couple of notches, making said manager/A&R terribly happy. DFA of course stands for 'does **** all'.
Reading one of my many books about military aviation (I'm a total geek with fast jets) during gulf war 1 there was some comms issues between our RAF and the yanks. The RAF kept confirming over an open net they were over MMFD. The yanks didn't understand. Was it an Iraqi installation? A British base they weren't aware of? Or something more sinister. They were deeply unhappy about being out of the loop (the way Americans tend to be) and it went high. Seriously high. A British Group Captain had to explain quite patiently that his pilots were simply referring to Miles and Miles of ****ing Desert!
Hopefully we will get an interview with him after he has been here a little while. Might not be until the summer
