VIP WINCANTON One to watch today is DONT MIND IF I DO - not a betting prospect at 8/13 but has entries in the G1 Supreme at Cheltenham and is a massive 200/1 at the moment. Don’t get me wrong he’s not beaten much yet but deffo has something about him. Won by 15 lengths LTO and eased - interesting to find out how good this one is as he steps up in class again. Odds will shorten for the Supreme if he routes again… VIP 1.25 PASSING KATE 10/3 - 1 point win Heavy ground is listed today at Wincanton and for that reason PASSING KATE at 10/3 looks like one of the better bets of the day here. She has strong form on soft and heavy ground with multiple wins. The others in the line up lack a heavy win in the locker. She’s good value to follow up her recent Exeter win and impressed at Leicester in poor conditions back in December where she won by 10+ lengths despite making an awful jumping error 2 out. Proved that day she relished the heavy ground IMO. This horse is strangely bred with an American stallion PASSING GLANCE who never raced more than a mile but her mare ANOTHER KATE won at distances of 2 miles 7 so a step up in trip today for our horse is likely to unlock even more potential as she returns to a longer 2 mile trip more seasoned after flopping this distance as a juvenile. 2.25 OUR BILLS AUNT - 11/4 - 1 point win Made all after two out, just holding on to win at a big price of 21/1 last week on heavy ground at Leicester. We have the same jockey on board but today his claim is active of 7lbs giving this selection a big chance considering he runs of the same unpenalised mark. There are better rated horses to beat today but most lacking form in the book so he could well go in again this afternoon! Total points 2 With double 2.5
VIP Saturday Good morning guys - poor end to what was a good month overall. Last few days been shocking not much else can be said about it really. Apologies to members and especially any new members that have just started. We do sometimes tip a winner… Hopefully we can get some in today… Let’s try get February off to a flyer!!! MUSSELBURGH - 2.17 - FLORIDA DREAMS 9/2 - 1 point win Good race this and we track the two favs AFADIL and FLORIDA DREAMS. I’m pretty sure AFADIL runs a good race today as he won this last year but form is very sketchy leading into this… For that reason my bets with FLORIDA DREAMS who in all honesty has been a disappointment since winning the G1 at Aintree as a novice. He has won since but his last run when tried at 2 miles 4 simply didn’t go to plan. A drop back in trip today is what’s needed for FLORIDA DREAMS who looks a 2 miler through and through. Had a very nice run when 5th of 15th in the class 1 at Cheltenham only 10 lengths behind BURDETT ROAD and a few behind the likes of DYSART ENOS. This is a drop in class today and back to favoured trip off a decent price off 9/2. FREDDIE ROBINSON at 8/1 runs (second for us last Sunday -might place - can’t see him winning) 2.50 - SAINT SEGAL 15/2 - 1 point EW (small saver ARIZONA CARDINAL 28/1 - 0.25 EW ) Small saver on ARIZONA who we had tipped last week (non runner) again overpriced - 4 places paid here. I think this one is capable of outrunning odds. SAINT SEGAL gets the nod for me over THE KALOOKI KID based on the value on offer at 15/2. Both horses enter the race after impressive wins. Ours is up 8lbs for recent career best win at Newbury when beating BEAU BALKO and WALKING ON AIR… The latter fell in his last race when looking at winning the premier handicap at Doncaster (class 1) - the fact that we smashed WALKIN ON AIR by 25 lengths last time out is a serious boost to SAINT SEGALS form in my opinion 2.35 - BOOMSLANG 7/4 - 1 point win That same logic applies for BOOMSLANG who recently bear BEAU BALKO by 5 lengths. This horse has looked smart and probably not finished winning. Step up in trip today could well unlock even more improvement. SANDOWN - POSTED BY 12 (few more to come) WETHERBY - 2.08 - ART OF DIPLOMACY - 4/1 - 1 point win (Saver DO YOUR JOB 16/1 - 0.25) DO YOUR JOB is 11 now and and last won a year ago off a mark off 133. This was a mid 140 rated horse in prime and although in twilight years, this price with 4 places paid is tempting for one last bet. I can’t see him running for much longer without an improved run in the imminent future. His mark has dropped significantly and I’m having a small EW. Sean Bowen takes over to finish the job his brother James has failed to see out in his past two outings. We have backed and followed this one and he’s ran very well. He’s been well supported on both outings and only some questionable jumping (out left at FFOS LAS) stopped him from winning the race IMO - He finished well ahead still of Skeltons BEAT BOX on the day so it was a deeper race than this. Lets see is Sean can get the job done at the third time of asking for his dad today. 4.22 - MOSSY FEN ROAD 15/8 - 1 point win Withdrawn the other day and now found in a more difficult affair. This will not stop a bold effort from MOSSY FEN ROAD who looked very smart in debut bumper effort now turned out for the rapidly improving Harry Derham yard. Forecast looks obvious with ORDEROFTHEDAY (Bowens mount) Not much else here for tips today - I have a few trackers BLEKINSOP 14/1 (2.43), ASK A HONEY BEE 9/1 (3.15) if anyone fancies trying some long shots. WOLVES - INFO posted for Wolves above - unless we have a good day won’t be revisiting tonight. (AW low class stuff) NEWCASTLE - We will revisit later and have a go if we can land a few wins today (we will have one info posted regardless) LEOPARDSTOWN - IRISH FESTIVAL - races covered by IRISH LINE get 2 day FREE VIP TRIAL here - https://sublaunch.com/irishline/checkout?coupon=DUBLIN Total points suggested - 5.5 points
VIP TUESDAY Keeping stakes small and sensible until we get back on a decent run. We had 11 seconds last week and 3 fallers so very frustrating and rough run of results. Let’s hope we can get some wins in today to start the week !!! 1.40 MARKET RASEN - I’M A LUMBERJACK 13/8 - 1 point win (Single and 0.5 double with SAINT ANAPOLINO) Looks a clear Forecastable race with BELLIANO providing worthy opposition to our selection I”M A LUMBERJACK. It looks unlikely that anything else can realistically play a part here if these two run to recent standards. Our selection won by 8 lengths LTO at this level and interestingly has Grade 1 entries for the festival at in the TURNERS and the ALBERT BARTLETT. He’s priced 66/2 currently in both races and he will need a win today to justify any sort of support in those races. It’s telling of his potential the yard has him entered. With that said all the money has come for the Nicholls Horse BELLIANO who is now 4/6… obviously the one we need to beat here. Both horse have had impressive starts to the year. 1.55 TAUNTON - SAINT ANAPOLINO 5/2- 1 point win (Saver BLACK HAWK EAGLE 10/1 - 4 places paid - 0.25 EW ) Tracker horse BLACK HAWK EAGLE is worth a small saver here and is likely better than his previous runs suggest. Last win came almost a year to the day in a class 3. He was tried in a Premier handicap at Ascot in December - he was out of his depth but ran creditably to finish 8th. He’s had a decent break and his price underestimates him now back in class 4 company. The clear fav is SAINT ANAPOLINO and he will make handicap debut today after winning nicely by 3 lengths in January in tough conditions at Exeter. My main issue with this horse is that he lost about 10 lengths jumping right - he needs to sort that out if he’s going to win today as this race has more depth. I’m surprised the other horses aren’t closer in terms of price in the market as I can’t see this being an easy win for SAINT ANAPOLINO - but it is a race he can win today. 3.45 -MARKET RASEN - PEEJAYBEE 11/2 - 1 point EW Looks back in form and a winner in waiting. Improved on each outing that has culminated in a close second place LTO over Course and distance. He came second behind EYED who has been winning for fun this past few months and would could have made it 3 in a row if not for an early fall when at Lingfield. James takes over from Sean for the ride for his dad and theres good value on 365 at 11/2 where he is as short as 4/1 elsewhere. Has wins at this level and in this discipline over distance. Hard n to see him involved. 4.05 TAUNTON - OUR DYLAN 14/1 - ( 0.5 EW 4 places paid ) This horse won nicely for us before Christmas but was unable to follow up of his revised mark with a run that fizzled out quickly after a mistake at the 3rd last when challenging for 2nd. He finished 6th, it’s arguable he would have hit the places if not for that mistake but the real argument is whether or not he’s capable of winning of his revised mark. Josh Newmans 5lb claim will be in effect today but even that will leave him a few lbs above his last winning mark. The price is fair and has drifted out this morning to 14/1 for a small EW. We have had a small word that he’s trying again today!!! Total points suggested 4.25
