Prior to their impressive 2-2 draw the Stadium of Light over the weekend, they had lost seven of their last ten games, slipping down to tenth in the table Leeds have beaten the Hornets in four out of five of their last meetings, but came up short in their last visit to Hertfordshire drawing 2-2. Under fire Hornets boss Tom Cleverley will be hoping his team have turned a corner or faces the ultimate punishment. Prior to Saturday's game. They are three points from a play-off place and twenty-four points shy of their midweek opponents. With normal league service now resumed, Daniel Farke looks set to bring Meslier, Bogle, Firpo, Rodon, Tanaka, Solomon, James, Aaronson and Piroe back to the starting line-up. Fit again Pascal Struijk who played the full 90 minutes against Millwall looks set to retain his place in central defence, allowing Ethan Ampadu to return to midfield. Tom Cleverley has a number of issues ahead of Tuesday. First-choice goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann is recovering from ankle ligament surgery. Vakoun Bayo is suspended following his red card at Norwich earlier this month and playmaker Rocco Vata is struggling with a virus, and remains doubtful. Kwadwo Baah may himself need to go under the Surgeons knife for a troublesome thigh condition that has hampered his progress during 2025.
Don’t worry players will be well recovered from Saturday as it’ll be basically a different team. Great chance to guarantee a comfortable league position before a good break for the Sunderland one All big games from here in now. One thing for sure though the chasing pack are dropping loads of points
After turning on the off switch to not minding losing the previous game it’s now time for the on switch and desperately wanting to win this one…..oh hang on, if only it was that simple
As long as we don’t lose to Sunderland and Sheffield, we then have a tricky game against West Brom then a fairly nice run of games We need to beat Watford, 8 points from the next 12 would be fantastic and keep us on track for top spot
At least they are not having a great run. They are 21st in form table with 5 points from last 6 games. We are 2nd with 14. While on this subject, the top 4 in the league are also in the top 4 positions in the form table - so contrary to impressions no one is falling away badly, as yet.
It depends on how many games you count current form, I think Coventry were top before we beat them. https://www.soccerstats.com/formtable.asp?league=england2 Over 4 games it’s Leeds Millwall Coventry Sheffield Burnley With Leeds playing both Sunderland and Sheffield that’s going to look completely different in a couple of weeks time
Ampadu’s a very good player but he was the most casual one of the lot against Millwall, alongside Firpo when he came on. Anyway, game lost, so job done.
I thought the team we turned out should have been good enough to win against Millwall and in reality, it was and would have done on another day. More about the volume of changes making it harder to click than the quality of the players. Hopefully it doesn't effect moral. Due to the changes it shouldn;t but how often does a cup defeat with a b team seem to derail a season? Watford had a great home record until recently, and after a shocking start at elland road, they made life hard work for us. They have decent individuals with power and pace. Their form has been stop start all season, but this is a banana skin game and we need to be on it.
Winning tomorrow puts us in a real good place for the 3 supposed toughies losing or drawing it gives the others a chance to claw back and puts the pressure on. Massive month which surely tells us alot come March.
Would be nice just to cruise through these 4 games But, Supporting Leeds we all know there is gonna be a twist somewhere down the line even after the 4 games. We never do things easy. imagine just going into the last few games of the season with all the top trumps.
Yep, would be so nice to walk this division so we could properly plan for the premier league season. Alas, I’m more fearful of ending up in the playoffs again
I just want us to go into the last 3 or 4 games knowing we're already promoted. Not too much to ask is it.
