Not on the tele but that Chris Cowlin blogger put up a video. Looked about 10 people max singing it. I assume him having lunch with ex-spurs the other day has got some tongues wagging. Personally I can’t see him leaving the US before the World Cup even there was a hint of it.
As much as I think Ange isn’t the solution, I think Poch coming back would be a huge mistake for both him and the club
I do think he’d leave if we approached with genuine incentives but it’d have to be a good deal to draw him out.
For him maybe, I don’t think it would be for us though. I think a lot of the players we have right now, those young and old, are tailor-made to Poch’s style of management and system.
Remind me how many of the player signed in the summer of 2019 did Poch think were tailor-made for his tactics and system...?
I think I’ll focus on the work he done in his first five years than allow one disastrous window to define his ability to coach.
But that was the issue: a large chunk of his squad was inherited, but when the onus was on him to build his second starting xi it went horribly wrong and he was to blame for pretty much every single signing
He was spot on about us It was just confirming from the inside what most of us on the outside knew for a long while
He was just making excuses for his inability to win things with the sixth best squad. Nobody should be expected to actually but I expect he told Paratici and Levy that he could, as did Mourinho.
Doesn't that worry you though? if I'd been sitting across the table from Jose interviewing him and he said something along the lines of being able to win the league with the squad as it was, I would have laughed him out the room and possibly penalised him for bringing the application process into disrepute. Conte inherited Davies and Sessegnon on one side, Royal and Doherty on the other, Dier in the middle. His midfield was Hojberg and Skipp. If he'd claimed to be able to achieve glory with that group, he should never have been given the job. And if Levy/Munn/Paratici/Lange believe such drivel, they should also consider either stepping down, or going back to school.
Also, what was promised to Conte and Jose? I’m sure they would have wanted certain things. Did they get them or not?
Conte was doing fine until a series of unfortunate deaths distracted him and he ****ed off to Italy. I'd have a lot of respect for him if he'd just admit that was what happened, rather than bullshitting. That probably would've involved giving up rather a lot of money, though.
Well, every Spurs fan seems to consider it a disaster if we don't win trophies and one way of doing it would be to hire a coach with an actual edge. Nobody said win the League, by the way. I am very doubtful that any coach who will join us has a proven edge as most of them only seem to win things if they have the most expensive squad. Poch had got to the CL final with his squad and added £150m worth of players so it wasn't unreasonable to expect Mourinho to improve a bit.
Conte was doing a good job, but you just didn't realise it, and now still refuse to just swallow your pride and accept some responsibility.
If it was in their contract they must have got them or they would have sued. If it wasn't then it wasn't promised.
He was fine in his first season but didn't cope with the issues in his personal life as @PleaseNotPoll has already mentioned.
I mean like transfer budget and level of players etc, that sort of stuff is usually a verbal agreement isn’t it rather than being written into a contract.
