we deserved nothing from that-embarrassing football -no intent-playoffs a million miles away playing like that.
You sound surprised RR I’m not From the start of this season I’ve consistently said we’re nowhere near good enough for the top 6 with this squad I hate to be proved right but it’s true And we’ve been down this road before The club are simply happy being an also ran
I really thought this week with home games against Swansea and Stoke I expected 6 points to cement us in the playoffs. It is almost if if the Lansdowns told them to hold back as they don’t want promotion.
As long as we start with O'leary, Roberts, Mehmeti and a 35 year old striker.........what the hell do we expect.
Oh dear Supcon, what happened today?? We've been missing you on our board this afternoon! The Jacks are dreadful..... Even a "poor" team like us have taken 4 points off them this season. Hoping our fragile confidence stands up ok next week after our 1 defeat since the turn of the year!
It was poor today in the second half, but as against you, could and should have been different if we’d scored first as we should have. You know as well as me that when we played you, you were devoid of any form or confidence, you can try and re-write history now if you like, but deep down, you know.
I switched off after their goal and went to do some shopping I was going to do after 2pm. Pity WX was so miserable could have gone down the allotment .. had to put my wipers on 3 times whilst out was like a very fine drizzle. My new coat, good for -15-20c warm as toast, but hood a bit big and when down neck gets a bit draughty. Cant wait for - 6c and 4" of snow next week! last time had a good snowfall experience was in NW Scotland snow was about 25 to 30cms and built a superb Miss piggy snowman/ person!
Ark at eee. You may well be right mate, and my comments weren't trying to do any such thing, I was just being rather tongue in cheek about next week more than anything. But it's a little rich you talking about rewriting history when you try to make out you were unfortunate when we wiped the floor with you at your place 6-0..... If you are going to pop over to extract the urine on our board, at least have the grace to accept we mullered you lot in much the same manner Leeds did to us
Is it written in the Bristol City handbook that when you get a chance to put on a special show for the supporters and get into the top six you must blow it ,and if it's at home then even better? Today's show was right behind the Lord Mayor's horses and we looked like the stuff that drops from the back end of one of those fine animals. Shocking how many shots and good chances we must have had to not even score and perhaps someone needs to have a couple of words in Sykes's ear to tell him that the first word in his position is to know what's behind you, and you don't need to see a panto to know that fact. There were times early on in the game when I thought our play over-powered Swansea but our infernal faults were out there in abundance and that was the eventual factor that lost us such an important match in our season. Shameful play and it just points to the fact that we are not even close to success and the owner has planned it that way if his actions are the determining factor and I can't see that changing anytime soon.
Top six front football. Forget that. City might be top six with more in goal. O'leary is making a lot of mistakes!!
No doubt Sykes was asleep for their goal but O'leary HAS to do better. I laugh at our defenders passing it back to O'leary. WHY ? Max is a bloody keeper ! His distribution is beyond poor. Even Vyner is more accurate, not much, but Max is on another level.
You love to knock Vyner, but of our 3 CBs he’s comfortably the best passer of the ball. You never call out Dickie for how poor he’s been lately, he cannot manage a ball played quickly to his feet, it gets stuck under him and he either loses it, or plays a hospital pass, but you never call him out, why is that, because he can head a ball, well, at least defensively.
I couldn't help but notice that the commentators spent quite a bit of time going over City's lack of transfers in the recent window and felt it was because of the very poor summer business we did to bring in new players that aren't up to this level. It almost sounded like a slight dig at Lansdown for the way the club is run and they wouldn't be the first to ask tough questions as a Leeds crew were amazed that Bristol City, with our classy stadium, have never been playing in the Premiership and felt that we should be annual contenders given our support and infrastructure. Clearly our fearless owner does not agree with success at a reasonable cost and passing up a chance to bring in one or two decent players in January to boost our chances was a crime against the supporters who constantly wait something better to arrive - but the post was delayed due to the Christmas rush. Tiresome, boring and yet so predictable is our claim to fame and that's about it in a nutshell.
I suspect much of the same against Stoke as we just don't have it, whatever that may entail. Our severe lack of scoring punch will probably keep us to where our leader wants us to be and that will be mid to lower table, but not anywhere close to the play-offs. What a sad sack lot we have running our club and I guess if you asked them the meaning of the word apathy they would answer with "I don't know and I don't care". So damned disappointing to see this mindless dereliction of duties by our leadership.
