He definitely could have went for another option and scored, and on another day the touch he went for goes through the keepers legs and it looks class.

It’s clear that Samed is a really tidy player, and a very good one at his specific role.

The question is, do we need a player in that role? When he signed we likely would have said yes but the season has gone another way.

We started season thinking we ‘could be a good shout for playoffs’ but it’s developed into us being a ‘winning minded’ team that could go up automatically.

It’s not on the lad really, just sometimes things change, and there’s no question the impetus and momentum we get from Dan in that role is more valuable.

He will play a part though (as he did, superbly, at Boro)

Mayenda got clattered in the back almost straight after coming on and was limping from then

Very true mate, margins. Could easily have gone under him.

Can’t knock the lad he has been immense for us, even Thierry missed golden chances.

I actually feel positive at the moment. I imagine there’s a bit of stress around the league table but we have a class player coming back after the next couple of games, we have a second right winger competing for a place, a very decent striker fit soon and competing for a place, Le Fee will soon be an even bigger influence in games and so many options in midfield. If injuries are kind going forwards I expect us to have a really strong run in. We win that game yesterday with a bit of composure and without The goal of the season from their player. I’m chilled and confident not anxious and angry. We’re unbeaten at home in a strong division and I’m looking forward to beating Luton.

Yeah he did, looked like Reg went to check in on him at the end.

Hopefully just a slight jar because Luton cannot deal with Mayenda.

I respect your opinion but I wasn’t sniping, my comments are the same to everyone. If someone says Ekwah was the obvious solution yesterday, having written him off previously I think I should be permitted to mention it.

Especially when they’re one of an ‘elite group of knowledgeable posters’ as they claim …

… doesn’t say much for the rest of us <laugh>

We need both Wilson and Mayenda at luton. Need to set the tone early IMO. We are drawing too many games, especially at home.

There's also playing football which Watford showed in places throughout the game, however the amount of grappling, shirt pulling, feigning injuies and late tackles was ridicuolous and iirc they received one maybe 2 yellows. I said to my lad during the game that I would be embarressed to support a team like Watford with all of these 'dark arts' as people put it. I'd be fuming if this is how SAFC played out games.

Anyone know how Ekwah doing over there? I can’t watch the French league it’s dross.

Can see he’s played plenty but has zero goals zero assists, but stats can be half a picture (we have a prime example when folk use them to pop at Paddy)

Wonder if we will start seeing a bit more of Aleksic? Thought he looked lively when he came on.

Hopefully Mayender is ok, as other have said he was limping a bit at the end, wouldn't mind seeing him start Wednesday

Watfords 10 (who looked very good, Moroccan international I believe which say a bit) fouled about 5-6 times should have been booked under totting up at very least.

If Jobe is a doubt for Weds I would start Alesic instead of Samed and Mayenda instead of Rigg 100%

Doing canny I believe. Maybe it's what was needed for him. He was a frustrating player here for us and past coaches mentioned that he needed to have more bite and motivation. Not saying he would be the answer, I think that was mentioned a few pages back, just not sure samed has shown much different. We need upgrades, haven't seen that yet. Ekwah probably doesn't cover enough ground in a RLB system TBF. But should command a canny fee if a club in France want him.

Was he the one that scored the 2nd? If it is he name is Lousa... Another cheat feigning his ankle until he was put through. Then sorting out his socks when we wanted to take a quick free-kick

Reg was very clear Jobe could have played yesterday. He will be fit and fresh.

Aleksic, we need to see him getting more minutes. He looks like a genuinely superb prospect.

Agreed. Would inject some serious pace in the side, it's what we are missing. Looking at the team yday, if felt flat and lots of our players are a touch slow (especially in wide positions). Those 2 subs would change it up immediately.

Yeah Aleksic is rapid for a CM. Looks like he could do some real graft centrally.

Yet to see enough to rate his passing etc.

Yeah I thought he tried to meg/slide it under the keeper, not the worst attempt I've seen. Just stung to have victory dangled in front of you and snatched away (twice).
