I don't think his prime was with us though - all I can really remember of him is his pass in the lead up to Zuniga's goal against ManU.
I really like wingers who take the ball to the corner flag....... He was pretty good.......but maybe a bit too ragged.......for the Prem.
I'll never understand why, when we are crying out for a goalscorer, we don't want to end his loan and bring him back.
Just about ! From the BBC Tavernier's shot is blocked and the rebound falls to Daniel Jebbison. The striker's first effort is saved by Pickford and his second bobbles over the line.
Derby have made a formal approach to Blackburn to speak to their manager John Eustace. Blackburn hand a debut to new signing Emmanuel Dennis, previously with Watford and Nottingham Forest.
By chance I noticed that Tomas Galvez is on loan at Cambuur in the Eredivisie (the top league in the Netherlands). He joined them on loan in January and has made two substitute appearances (with a total of 65 minutes), but stayed on the bench during the last game against Telstar. He was on loan at Lask during the first half of the season, but played for only 85 minutes in the Austrian Bundesliga so his loan was cut short. He spent 5 years in the Watford Academy before joining Manchester City in the summer of 2021. Manchester City's website describes him as a pacey left back who is comfortable on the ball. I know that Manchester City can offer better facilities, they will have very good youth coaches and they will pay a higher salary than Watford, but I do wonder whether he has made the best career choice if he wants to be a top professional footballer. It is not certain whether he will ever be good enough to get in Manchester City's first team. Tomas Galvez is 20 years old and I think that he would probably have established himself as the regular left back at Watford if he had stayed here and he would still have had the possibility to join a top club in the future. Compare his career path to that of Ryan Andrews, another player from Watford's youth team, who is also 20 years old and has already played more than 4,000 minutes of football as a right back in the Championship. Tomas Galvez was considered to be a more talented player than Ryan Andrews.
We did at least get a centre half back from Chelsea three years after they poached him from us Jadon Sancho and Harry Forrester were two others poached by Man City, think the parents get blinded by the thought of their kids playing for bigger clubs without thinking of what happens to them when they dont make it at those clubs I think Watford are pretty good at finding clubs for players who are good but not ready to make it in our first team
I think that Harry Forrester joined Aston Villa in 2010 and now works as a youth coach in the United States. Harry Amass (if that was whom you meant) was signed by Manchester Utd. in 2024. In my opinion, I believe that Galvez has greater potential than Amass (as a left back) because he has more pace.
To which I might add - look And see what has happened to Grealish. A brilliant player now reduced to a wall passer on the left.
He appears to have angered Blackburn's board - and more than likely their fans too. So if he decides not to go, he may find himself out the door anyway. What on earth possessed him to speak to Derby I do not know - he may well find other clubs are not so keen to employ him because of it.
I think he was disappointed with their lack of transfer business and some of our fans wanted Clev to do the same but he obviously wanted to keep his job . Agree going to Derby seems risky but then said that about the new Luton manager .
