Looking for a new club after a spell in China. Only Larsen and Boyd have scored more SPL goals , granted not the greatest league in the world, but some of his goals were very well taken. Looks like he fancies a shot at the PL but he's kidding himself. He's still only 28, worth a punt do you reckon?

I'm not a fan, he only had a strike rate of one in three in the SPL, he's way behind Boyd and he didn't cut it either, I think we can do better.

Can't say I'm too impressed by Macheda. Scored a beauty against Villa in the 90th minute that one time, and it was blown massively out of proportion that he was the next Cantona. I think he scored another next game but it just hit his knee and went in Hopefully if we sign him he'll be a lot more proficient at Championship level.
After I heard that SAF had announced that he would send Macheda out on loan I'm sure I read somewhere that he has had several enquiries from EPL clubs (Newcastle being named as one). If that's the case I suspect he won't come to us.
Riordan isn't anywhere near as good as Fryatt or McLean. His spell at Celtic showed up his lack of ability.
I think Macheda got bigged up far too much. He scored a great goal in the PL (but then so did Will Atkinson) and looks like he has the potential to be a decent player (unlike Will Atkinson). He would be a decent acquisition, but only after proper scouting; has he been cutting it in the reserves? He didn't seem to impressive at Sampdoria. Still, he isn't at Man U for the sake of it, Fergie obviously rates him highly so if we are trying to bring him in, then I'd consider it a bit of a coup. As for Riordan, I rated him at Hibs, don't think he would be a bad shout. I think Macheda would do well at this level, it reminds me of Bendtner when he played a few seasons back in the Championship, got quite a few goals, similar type players
Macheda would be a good fit into our young squad - SAF will like the style of football and would prefer us to a PL team.
