I'm sure Gosling can play CB. I might be wrong but I
thought he played a few there for Everton?!?!?!?

Nah he played RB a couple of times, are you not thinking of Rodwell?

Kadar was given a squad number today (40).

Aye maybe. In all honesty I think Smith might be a good shout

It's Perch and Santon/Kadar for me because it's a gamble that could pay off, we already know Simpson sucks at it for a fact. I'd also like to keep the rest of the team as it already is.

Newcastle will draft Hungarian international Tamas Kadar into the squad for Norwich. Pardew must decide whether to throw the eastern European in at the deep end alongside James Perch or field either Danny Simpson or Davide Santon out of position

Still not decided then. I suppose whoever does better in training will get it.

No doubt whoever it is will get injured.

I am not confident about this AT ALL. Whoever we play in centre back will be bullied. Anyway, I'd just try to give the defence as much protction by having a really defensive midfield:

    Krul
    Simpson -- Santon -- Perch -- Raylor
    Gosling - Cabaye - Smith - Guthrie - Jonas
    Ba

If Tiote is fit put him in for Smith.

Both full backs will have very good cover which is important as we will need to stop crosses into the box. Unfortunately with this formation we'd just have to keep it tight in midfield and hope Ba performs miracles up top with little support.

^ If we're going to do that then Abeid before Smith. Miles and miles before him.

I think you may have a point. In the Championship, Smith did a protection job where he sat infront of the target man and won the headers for the likes of Colo. Now I know this is the Premier League, but with all due respect to Norwich, they've just had back-to-back promotions so the difference between the standard then and the current Norwich team may not be too different.

To conclude, I think Smith is an awful player and in normal circumstances wouldn't have him in our third team, nevermind first. However, I think this game suits him and we are very thin on the ground.

Never seen Abeid play. Just put Smith there cause of his experience.

Oh hell no, would rather a brain damaged horse play instead of Smith!

Abeid should be as said by Smudger, Miles and miles before Smith!

    This winds me up

Why play an awful RB at Centre Half

Just have some faith in your youth system, our reserves are doing extremely well this year as is our youth team
Your not telling me there isnt a few decents CB's between them ...
I'd say pull up one of our young reserve CB's and probably with Perch as he will never play Kadar before him (or ever it seems)

At the end of the day they can do no worse than Danny feckin Simpson

Simmo at CB will probably result in him backing off into the net/Krul.

Mackem in peace - totally - I actually thought exactly the same - I don't think Raylor is a great left back but with Gutierrez in front of him the pair make and excellent partnership down the left and I think he has been (and will be if he's out) a massive miss for you lot

Jonas has more to his game than a lot of people realise, and he's learned how to wave too!

I'm just gonna be glad Jonas is back. Him and Tiote out was a big hit, and then when we lost Saylor and Coloccini, no wonder we lost 3-0 to Chelsea. We were holding our own until the CBs went off, and if we had Tiote and Jonas I genuinely think we could have got something.

call me crazy but id just play perch and kadar and keep our full backs the same. stability is the key. kadar and perch will know each others game from the ressies and kadar is a strapping young lad whos good on the ball and has a better chance of competing in the air than simmo. for me its better than putting square pegs in round holes.
