Now hang on a minute there was nothing at all silly about the mercantile credit cup 1988. We thrashed Liverpool 0-0 at Wembley in a 40 minute game (gloriously winning on penalties) and it's that kind of spirit I'm hoping we can recapture in March. As that's the last formal game we played against them at Wembley I think it's safe to say that we are the form team and history is on our side.
It wasn't the final though, it was the last 16. We were knocked out by ... erm ... the then non-league Tranmere Rovers in the quarters. Big fixtures in a proper tournament.
****test game ever and we are going to be forced to endure an extra half an hour of it.
Need to get Ayew off and the boy wonder on ...
He’s probably just there for the experience mate. Probably not the right time to throw him on when the game is in the balance like this.Need to get Ayew off and the boy wonder on ...
Me too in a way. I was sat staring at Leicester to score first and Man U win at 13/2 but didn’t bother putting it on. So I’ll be pissed if Man U win this in 90mins.Hope so...

god I had forgotten about those competitions. They were dreadful…..full members cup, 40,000 at Wembley for a final nobody cared about.
United rolling back the years by getting a result from a goal that shouldn't have stood.

... have to laugh ... slabhead, of course ... in added time ... and unquestionably offside ... that's footie ...
