as good as he is, I would rather bring through players from our academy rather than helping other teams academy - its only going to harm the progress of our youngsters
I see where you are coming from but I want to be in the premiership. Bringing through players like Ward-Prowse isn't really back up to the first team. W-P and players in his situation need to be bled as substitutes, in cup games and sent out on loans.
This. But if we get to the PL we will probably start with Cork and Schneiderlin. I just dont think Hammond would cut it at PL level. But I would love to be proved wrong.
Was watching Liverpool v Fulham last night and thinking to myself that we need half a new team to compete if we get promoted. Felt like a traitor, but it's a fact of life that the team that gets you up doesn't always get many games the next season. Still I'm sure Adkins will be delighted to have to deal with that problem.
He wasn't a championship layer in most people's views on here during July .... a little different now though. Deano always gets bashed by the fans, and usually those who don't understand that a team game isn't about having 11 Lallana's.
There are a few outstanding players in the academy and JWP is one of them. I wouldn't mind calling on him as backup if he was needed.

Kieth Andrews was never rated when he moved to Blackburn, but I think he is/was one fo there best players over the past few years. Same as hammond, he will make the move up the leagues because of the type of player he is. Like paul telfer. Solid.
You really are a pleb. Very few people said he wasn't Championship standard. Get off your high horse. 2nd line: You can say he's not premiership standard. He hasn't got the pace, vision or passing ability to play in the Premiership at a good standard. If you think he can play in the Premiership, then fine. But if he plays 38 games in centre midfielder he will be in a relegation side.
I rarely watch Blackburn play so I can't judge on Andrews. I saw Telfer play a fair few times though. Telfer played for Coventry in the Premiership so he didn't really make the step up to Saints. I also think centre midfielder is more of an important role than right back.

You are basically calling other people wrong when I remember very few comments about Hammond questionable championship quality.
I don't think hammond would cut it in the prem either. As for Andrews he was **** in the prem, but he's class in the championship. It shows what a gulf in class there is between the two. We will need at least 5 new players if we go up.
