Trump is set to sign an executive order sanctioning the International Criminal Court (ICC) later today for targeting the US and allies, such as Israel, the BBC understands. The order will see both financial and visa related sanctions applied to individuals assisting the ICC with its investigations into US citizens or allies, as well as their families.
Would be funny if Trump told Netty that Israel has to take the 2.3m Palestinians whilst he builds the golf course in Gaza.
Thing is buddy, Palestinians have been living in refugee camps in Gaza since 1948 ... so, for a substantial proportion of the population, living in tents, particularly along the shore line above Gaza City (or what's left of it), won't be that different to how they lived before the Israeli offensive commenced ... So Trump's 'humanitarian philanthropy' is just complete, uneducated, opportunist, nonsense...
It's ridiculous, the place is a bomb site, you might be able to get to it on foot, but how the **** are the food supplies going to get through with 2 million people now dispersed all over the shop, it's not been thought through at all. In fairness to Trump he did say the neighbouring countries should take some in. Could you imagine if that was Scotland or Wales and the English never took them in, we'd be getting absolute dogshite for it. Yeah they are blaming Israel now, but reality is they should never have been allowed to go back, it's a logistical nightmare.
Difference is we are all part of the UK - Palestinians, Egyptians and Jordanians are not part of a 'unification' - would Belgium Fance or Spain take in a few million of us with no guarantee that we'll ever go back? Trump is also now backtracking from his initial remarks that had no mention of future Palestinian resettlement, once the aran Las Vegas is up and running - sp little wonder that Palestinians see through his real aim ...
Regardless mate, it's a humanatarian crisis, and yes I would hope those European countries would help us if required. At this very moment in time, it's not about history or borders, it's about preventing disease and death now the war is supposedly over, but all I see is decisions that are making it worse for them. Refugees are taken in every day around the world with no guarantees they might go back, why are we treating Gaza any different to any other refugees.
Palestines neighbours are no different to us on here. They’ve got a lot to say about what’s happening and throwing their ‘support’ behind them but when they’re challenged to put their words into action, they don’t want to know or want to have any part in helping these people.
Bang on the money Saf, exactly what I'm thinking, all these countries that want to arm them and lob stuff over into Israel, where are they now...no where to be seen in helping suffering Palestinians. It's as if suddenly to the other arab nations that the Palestinians don't even exist, it's disgusting and shameful.
Jordan has about 3 million Palestinian refugees. So I think of all the countries Jordan is definitely pulling it's weight
Cheers mate, can you give me a list of all the countries and how many Palestinians they've taken in, so we can find out who is not pulling their weight, and as most problems come out of Iran, have they taken any in....once I got the list I'll refer to google maps.
