    from the HDM:

    Mohamed Belloumi

Injury: Anterior cruciate knee ligament (ACL)
Expected return date: The Algerian ace is out for the season and remains in Dubai going through his rehab

    Liam Millar
Injury: Anterior cruciate knee ligament (ACL)
Expected return date: Millar is out for the season but is around the training ground undergoing his recovery

    Kasey Palmer
    Injury: Ankle issue
Expected return date: Towards the end of next month (February)

    Charlie Hughes
    Injury: Hamstring
Expected return date: Back on the grass but expects to return in around four weeks

    Abdus Omur
    Injury: Knee problem
Expected return date: In the next couple of weeks

    Lewie Coyle
Injury: Ankle problem sustained at Millwall
Expected return date: Expected back for Saturday's game against Stoke City

Surprised at Palmer, thought he was back sooner than that. Be good to have Coyle back.

His coat still fits, so that’s a good sign!

When did he have his op? That progress is unbelievable Jeff. Good for him but still not back until next season earliest.

It seems he's only been walking on the grass today rather than anything more. I suppose that's scheduled into his recovery plan as a psychological milestone as much as anything. Something to look forward to earlier in the process so that's it's not just week after week of gym work.

Millar gets Cottingham, Belloumi gets Dubai. :emoticon-0138-think

I got the impression that Belloumi did a runner after his injury and didn't want the opp. He definitely seems on the periphery of what's going on and probably hoped he would be on his way to the premier league in the summer. It will be interesting to see if and when he appears back.

Got all the gear on though, including football boots. Seems a bit OTT just for a walk on the grass. Maybe the very first steps of light individual training? Still, good to see; we will be a different team with him and Belloumi both back - unbelievably bad luck to lose both of them at the same time.

I might have missed it but would be good for the club to publicise the rehab path that Belloumi is taking. I hadn’t realised until tonight he’d gone to Doha in Quatar.

He's on a 4-year deal with us, if he still wants PL football then he could do worse than come back here for a season or 2 to get back up to speed. My take on the op was that he wanted it, just not in UK. Sort of understandable, young lad, only been in UK 5 minutes, limited English maybe. I think I'd rather be incapacitated somewhere familiar!

Why wouldn't he want the operation though? Major ligament damage requires surgery if you want to continue playing high-intensity sports. The only time you wouldn't want or need the surgery is if you were old and not particularly active.

He wanted the op, he just wanted it to be done by a certain doctor and we wanted it doing by our chosen doctor

Ah, that makes more sense. I read it as if he didn't want the op at all which seems insane. He'd never play professional football again if he refused surgery after a complete ACL tear.

I can see why the club wanted to do it in-house. Any particular reason why he wanted to have it done in Qatar?
