Two detector group heads are presenting data at CERN a week today. There are rumours that this is to announce potential evidence for the Higgs Boson at masses in the right area.

This is great news for LFC. Let's hope this really is the case. Believe <ok>

Has the LHC created a mini black hole which has started consuming thread titles?

Don't know what you mean. If you mean Monday night, no beams were circulating, and Bluff watched the game. This is a recipe for disaster as I indicated in a post I made.

For better news, go to the banter thread for an article on the possible announcement regarding the Higgs Boson.

This is feasible. For a thorough update, saint, go to the banter thread, most recent page <ok>

I know it's my public duty to talk to mancs now and again, but I hardly ever go on the "banter" thread because tbh anyone who thinks some of that stuff is banter needs to get a new dictionary.
However, just for you I took a look and it seemed to be mostly a discussion about the charms of Phil Collins.
I persevered and found your article but it was so long I'll have to sit down and read it properly later.
Can't we keep the LHC stuff to the LHC thread so I don't have to risk my already tenuous grip on my sanity by going over there?
Anyway, I think Mr. Higgs must be a very popular man- daft sod loses his boson and all those clever people have spent ****ing years helping him look for it.

Not really mate. This was just a quick one when I saw the news about the meeting next Tuesday. The banter thread is the place where all the physics talk happens. You just have to be selective what you read. Most of the mancs on there are passable these days.
