Club are smart enough, wouldn’t have signed until the summer only if he was going to be out long

Depends. I am just speculating. If it's that it can be a longer process. Will have to see.

We must expect he'll be able to play a part. And Liverpool must do as well. If there was any chance this was gonna be months they'd likely have kept him to use him at the back end of season.

Aye if its a stress fracture we're talking months. Might not be a fracture though.

Saw someone earlier this morning (might have been otr) say it was a stress fracture in his back. If it is, what’s the average recovery time for that? Google says 6-8 weeks. If it’s that long he’s not really worth signing!

Apparently related to an injury he had previously

he was out for 6 months with a lower back stress fracture and came back in November

if it’s occurred again now I’m furious the club have signed him,

Club comms just say he needs a period of rest, sounds to me he is just running the risk if he doesn’t rest

Yeh could be that his back is showing signs of stress but no actual fracture? I'm sure that's "seeable" in scans. So this might be pre-emptive rather than reactive.

If he has a back issue it could have caused serious problems. Picking it up now might just be a lucky break for the lad. Just look what has happened to Huggins.

Phil Smith in his article reckons no party was aware of it, can’t be THAT serious surely

Just said in a different reply Phil Smith reckons in his article no party was aware of it, definitely sounds pre-emptive, surely
