Excellent news although I was hoping he'd be fit for Norwich!

Decent defender and did very well for us under Hughton.

  3. Get in!!!

Willo and Colo would make me feel 100x better than I did after the Chelsea game.

Willo isn't as good as Saylor but he's good enough to get the job done, and miles better than Perch.

Not a fan of Williamson really, but given the circumstances, we could do a hell of a lot worse.

This. He provides with me with alot more confidence than Perch and Kadar.

Really, I agree he is no world beater but he is a good, solid defender at premier league level

I like Williamson, gets up for corners well and is strong. I was gutted he didn't score last season, he set up enough and hit the woodwork about five times.

  8. He's still better than a canny few CB'S at this level.

He doesn't win enough headers for a 6ft 4 inch bloke, but he wins enough and can mark players quite well from corners ect.

Decent defender who will give me more confidence than certain other options. However, its still a MASSIVE blow. Saylor used to throw himself infront of everything and was useful attacking corners with his knockbacks to Colo.

Just got to get behind whoever comes in though.

Forwards need to get their act together now as we cant rely on the defence as much from now on.

  10. Willo isn't as good or as strong as Saylor but he can still do a job. And we have the Jan transfer window in a few weeks. We can sign someone else.

Thank ****. Willo can be decent, I remember a time when decision on here between Saylor & Willo was split.

    Time to step up.

Remember that , there was a poll and I think the results were quite even.

He did the job at the level we were last season, but we've really went up a few notches this season, so bringing Williamson back in is a real blow in my opinion. Saylor was in the best form of his career and, with Colo, formed arguably the best CB partnership in the league this season until he was injured.

I would agree with that. However, Talys looked dodgy at this level in the past, whats to say Willo can't feed off the higher level or performance and expectations and step up a level also. I think he might be able to!

  15. Williamson is a good back up CB. Times like these is what he will be good for, and it's not a massive blow because I'm pretty sure he wont be playing long term and that we'll be a new CB in Jan.

Lets just hope Carr has another good bargain for us. <ok>

I'd personally go after Samba. Samba and Colo would make an immense partnership IMO.

Samba is a beast in the air, and extremely strong, and Colo is really quick for a CB in terms of his agility, and precision tackling and skill.

    Santon-----Samba---Colo----Pieters

That's a fantastic back four IMO.

Samba would be immense, but lets face it, maybe Chelsea will get him, or Liverpool. But yeah, Samba ll day for me. Willo..well at least he's a centre half, he's not brilliant and we'll have to hunker down but honestly, Perch is a side-defender (wouldn't call him a fullback).

I like Williamson still. He's got nothing on Saylor though of course. I remember us all having the argument of who was better, Saylor or Willo <laugh>

Glad he's back sooner rather than later though. Even if Colo isn't back by then, we'll still have Willo and Perch for it rather than Perch and ???? for Norwich!

Well, we've got no other choice really! Having Perch and Kadar in defence is a real blow but it's the only option. Having Williamson back for Swansea is only a positive thing.

Yeah, but what happens when Saylor comes back? Dont think either Colo, Samba or Saylor would fancy a stint on the bench.

The sad thing is that Williamson was far better than Taylor had ever been until this year - People just favoured Taylor cause he's a geordie.
