He's a winger who takes on his man but is also surprisingly physical There's a reason we tried to have him included in the Harry Kane deal last season
He looks like a top talent. He's struggled for game time at Bayern because they have an embarrassment of riches in wide areas - Sane, Gnabry, Coman and Olise are all top players and all far more experienced than him, so he's always playing second fiddle to them. The loan apparently doesn't include an option to buy which probably comes from the player's camp. Bayern will want to write off a chunk of the Kane bill but Tel himself probably wants to keep his options open.
So we have a new El Tel...or should it be Heil Tel? Either way, he didn't accept this deal to be a bench warmer, so will be interesting how we line up. If you have Son & Kulusevski as starters, this would seem likely to limit Mikey's opportunities...
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Remember the drill lads, until he's pictured at Hotspur Way in a Spurs shirt, he's a Chelsea player.
I think it’s because Utd couldn’t agree a loan fee/ for him. So his choice was Bayern’s bench or a run of games for us. I have a feeling they’re a lot more financially ****ed than I think what’s being let on… Not saying they’re as ****ed but I do wonder if Utd are the Prem equivalent to Barca at the moment.
Well I guess it will only be a Mathys of time until we can really Tel if he’s any good. I’m all here week, folks.
What a surprise.. ...a few Levy out chants and the **** is finally stirred into actually doing something. Don't believe that he and Lewis are unmoved by the fans and the increasingly dreadful press. They're looking for investors and sponsorships. If the place is in uproar, they can't let it continue. If we let them do **** all, that's what they'll do...if not less.
Spurs have history with making big bids on deadline day. Of course it would make sense to do it early but bidding late gives the impression they tried
Have I missed something regarding Tel and this being a loan and not a permanent move? didn’t he basically say he didn’t wanna play for us? Or am I way off here?
I think I'd laugh my arse off and also cry my eyes out in equal measure if we've managed outshit the Werner signing.
I don’t know anything about the bloke tbf, but if he’s at Bayern, it fills me with some confidence. Even if the highlights reel says otherwise!
It's a straight loan. Yeah he didn't wanna join us but I said a few posts up that the Utd deal fell through and so I presume Tel was left in a situation of sit on Bayern's bench most weeks and pick up the odd 10 mins or come to us and play a decent amount for 4-5 months. Florian Plettenberg's more or less confirmed as such too, said the Utd deal collapsed and then Spurs approached him once more today and he's now on his way.
Yeah could have possibly avoided some injuries and have more points on the board if it had been done earlier
He looks like he's in the mould of one of those forwards who prefers to play ST but can play on the wing and is one of France's best prospects. So think the next Thierry Henry... ... or the next Anthony Martial.
