The January transfer will test the mettle of the Allams. When NB became manager Mr Allam said: "We said this many weeks ago that money to Nigel would be available - a million pounds in January for the transfer window," said Tigers owner Assem Allam. "That same amount is still available for Nick." With the likely sale of Simpson, will this figure rise to approx. £1.5 million or will Nick be told to replace the striker from the same £1million stated? Will any of the estimated £1million compensation for Pearson be added to the kitty? If we sell a player (say Koren) will that money go to Nick or to the Allams (which would effectively reimburse their transfer outlay)? Itâs probably fair to say that part of the reason Pearson left was due to a lack of transfer budget here, so will one of the countryâs richest men prove him wrong by giving NB the money he needs to back our ambitions.
In the press conference unvailing NB as caretaker manager, Papa Allams actally said million(s) would be available, which indicates more than just one million.
It's a very good talking point, but we just don't know do we. I believe he will back Nick Barmby but not with a massive amount until he has proved himself; that would be sensible. If Simpson is sold that would change everything though and he would have a kitty of £1m to £3m.
Papa Allam did say millions. The point was also emphassed by Adam Pearson in a live interview with Burnsie @ Derby.. When asked how many millions Adam said ""we shall find out"" interesting. With the new and improved richies on offer in the PL(approx. £80million from just the sky and overseas tv deals) alone, Papa Allam knows that he has to support Nick as best as possible to help achieve that goal. We shall soon find out.
that makes good sense as we dont know which league we shall be in. there are some Great deals to be had next summer.
There's no rush, yes we will be there or therabouts and with a couple of astute additions, we could make the play offs! January windows are great but i honestly believe our permanent signings will be made in the summer when we know what division we are going to be in next season
Sorry Craig if you misunderstood my comment, OLM is right, I was referring to the BBC making a few cock ups of late.
Are there any decent Man Utd reserves we could loan? People always bang on about Morrison (sp?). I assume our relationship with Joyce didn't sour over the manager approach.
Macheda & Diouf have been rumoured although I see prem teams capturing these two (if they are available for loan)
You too, mate. Cleared the ice off my car's screen and found the steering linkage is farked!!!! Four-and-a-half miles to the shops; no buses; and a bad leg......
