We need to tighten up at the back (30 goals conceded!) so how about bringing someone in on loan in January.

I note that Loovens isn't exactly flavour of the month at Celtic so why not try and see if we can bring him to Portman Road? He's a solid enough player and knows the Championship.

I was of the impression that the Celtic fans weren't too impressed with him. Plus they have that Wilson they signed from Notts Forest. I thought Loovens did well for Cardiff.

I think if needs be we make loans although if we can we need to make some permanent signings. One player which sticks out to me is Killgalon at Sunderland, not getting a game yet a couple of years back was one of the best CB's in the division!!

Agree with Warky, loans are no good. We need a settled side which can move forward over the next few years. No loans and no more oldies.

Couldn't agree more. I was disappointed we haven't signed him already if I'm honest. The lad was absolute class at Sheff Utd when I used to watch them and I'm surprised he hasn't done much since, looking at his former clubs I wouldn't imagine he'll come here though... Being a Northern lad and all

There's nothing wrong with taking in a loan with an agreement to sign him full time if it works out. That's what Southampton just did. That way we get a chance to look at him before gambling.

really ? please tell me your joking. Yes he hasn't been good at Celtic, however he was rather good at Cardiff. He's certainly better than what we have......

For my money, I'm not a huge Collins fan. Quality in the air, however not the best at reading the game, pace, or positioning.

In my opinion our ONLY good cb at present is Sonko. He's always injured too.....

I thought Ingi was a good signing, not sure thats been proved correct so far. However, again he's been so injury prone with us.

If we could have Sonko fit every game + a partner we'll soon tighten up.

I don't really think we have a good CB at the club. I think Sonko and Collins are pretty solid and Ingimarsson is ok but they've all had injury problems and are at a new club. Sonko is a no nonsence defender, but not brilliant, good in the air and getting rid of the ball.

I still think McAuley although not the best CB in the world, was one of the best in the division and his loss is absolutely massive for us this season, I don't think we'd be in the position we are in now if he had stayed at the club. a) because he's a better CB than anyone we have at the club atm and b) because he had been at the club for a while, so it would have been some sort of solidarity in the team and c) I think he would have been made captain, he wasn't the best captain before but I think he had finally settled into the club and was becoming captain material with some monumental performances at the end of last season. I said it at the time, he was a massive loss and replacing him with similar quality will be expensive!!

We still need 2 permanent CB's IMO, Killgalon and another, not sure who though.
