Went to Barnsley v Stoke once. It was when the Stoke fans used to wave blow up flamingoes for some reason. Barnsley won, one nil. I think.
I grab a coffee there early when it’s the only place open. They play loud music to keep the tramps awake/out.
Saw us lose 5-2 and 1-0. The second one I went up on an unofficial coach which was an experience. Some of the drunkest and highest people I’ve ever met. Hardened 50+ drinkers at the front, Ladbroke Grove yoof at the back on spirits and weed. An old bloke was convinced the whole time I was undercover police for some reason and got increasingly paranoid about it despite reassuring him with obscure noughties QPR knowledge. Fun day. Had a pub stop on the way in some dross town’s Spoons- Worksop maybe.
The coffee is usually OK in McD, it wasn't there. There's another one off the M4 that is reliable, will go there .
Did have an M&S bought pepper corn sauce with this. Looks gloopy but was tasty enough. Cba making one last night, had no green pepper corns.
Half hoping Swansea get relegated, they probably will at this rate, so we can have a couple of random obscure away day's. Wrexham would be a decent 'derby', but they will probably pass us on the way up. Going your place on Easter Monday this season. Great trip on the train that one. It's Millwall the following weekend, but not doing both.
I think Swansea will be ok. Plenty of dross in this league including Cardiff. But yeah some good trips from where you are in L1. Bristol Rovers I liked a lot. Proper ground.
Sounds like one of those Soccer Saturday things where everyone has to have a night out in the town of the first goal of the day.
huddersfield got some decent Italian restaurants well 2 to my knowledge been there decades if Italian cuisine is your thing
Was late 80's, I was working on an M1 motorway scheme as a very young trainee. Actually lived in a house in Batley, which is a proper **** hole fair play. Used to go to random matches. Barnsley Stoke was one. Went to a Leeds v Bradford derby at Elland Road. Needed a long shower after that one, sitting amongst those ****ers.
Yeah, that would be good. They treat the Bristol City game like it's a high risk, and so stick it on at some daft hour. Nest Sunday at 12.00, for instance. Not so much Rovers I think.
Northampton v Stoke - was one of the cups in the early 1980s (might actually have been 1979) - the old ground, that I recall might only have had 3 sides - either way Stoke Neanderthals were all over the place - some of the worst crowd trouble I've seen with punch ups breaking out all over and the police and stewards completely overstretched...
If I was still going to games, two clubs I would never go back to, Wolves and Port Vale. Horrible places.
Must be difficult seeing Stoke as the posh neighbours. Wolves used to spit down on the away fans. Presumably still do. Will probably find out next season.
Ridiculous because Wolves put there lot in the tier above the away fans and no ****ing stewards up there, well not to be seen. Try and keep away from the corner section and go more central, nearer the front the better, it avoids the overlap from above.
