Looking at their goal, good job Bednarek made no contact on Delap with that wild lunge. He would have prevented Delap scoring there but would have been sent off and we would almost certainly have lost.
Should be the record avoided. Another 3 of them and we can talk about having an actual competitive season!
He was awful. A tap in due to their rubbish keeper doesn’t change his performance. And I say this as someone that really likes him usually
I'm not saying we're suddenly right in with a chance, but the supercomputer giving us a 0.05% chance of survival or whatever and all of the mood on here (including mine) was as downtrodden as you like. I don't think that correlated with the scenario we're now in where we've won a game of football and there's more hope than that felt like. Another win, and there's an even more compelling case.
Don't care how he played as long as he scored. How many simple chances have our players missed before. Your best strikers are those that score the easy goals. I can't believe how **** we have been this season that people are slagging Tall Paul who gets the winner for only our second win of the season just enjoy it and say we'll done to the lad for not giving up and being it the right place at the right time
Yeah for me strikers are judged on goals. Couldn't give a **** how well they play, if you're banging them in, you're doing your job. Same with Arma, he gets stick even when amongst the goals. Not that that happens too much these days
I watched the second half, then foolishly listened to Talksport while I was pottering about. They must`ve been watching a different game - taking the piss out of Saints ineptitude, and babbling on how it was a miracle Ipswich didn`t win. I don`t recall Ramsgate having much to do, and we were the away team. Welington is a shoe in for rubber boot, btw!
Just to be clear, nobody slagged him off after he scored. He was pretty awful the rest of the game but I reckon everyone is pleased he popped that in…
Tall Paul anticipated the free ball and beat the defender to the ball (albeit with an unfair leg length advantage). That has been missing all season so worth having him on the pitch.
