Williams may have got the ball, just, but a trailing leg like that gives a referee a decision to make. In today's game I'd be surprised we'd appeal and even more surprised it being overturned. Williams and McCrorie deserve their bans, they were both bloody stupid.
My son refs and he thinks the challenge was reckless = yellow card. He also thinks he can see why the ref sent Williams off for serious foul play, because the trailing leg could be viewed as dangerous play/excessive force = serious foul play and the only sanction is a red card.
In the ground thought Williams tackle was from the 80s in 2025. Red was no surprises. Seen it on the highlights a tackle from the 80s in 2025!!
